the VG board football thread (1 Viewer)

I'm ready to move on. 12 million in cap space can do some damage.

so reggie agrees to 2 years with dolphins, anyone know what we get in return?

on the bright side, we got cap room!

I think we mostly got cap room and the money to sign Lance Moore to a five year deal. But, the rumor is that we are getting either a 5th, 6th or 7th round pick, which is a lot considering everyone knew that we had to cut him or pay him $16 million do dance out of bounds.

On the whole I think Loomis did a good job on this one.

What we get? we get the chance at NO MORE reggie bush threads cluttering up the SSF. ItT may not happen for a couple months but eventually bush threads will dissappear almost like Madden threads when we traded them to the VG boards version of the BTL.

If we got a 5th round pick for him, then :worthy: Loomis

I hope.

It as pretty obvious to anyone that really followed the Saints that it was almost a 100% deal that RB was gone. Of course the Saints would say all the right things about how they want him back, yada, yada yada..Kinda like how politicians say things to calm stupid people.

But at the end of the day it just made sense. It actually would have been a smart move to even trade RB for nothing. Due to trading him instead of cutting him, I believe we save a lot more room on the cap. I think this is correct.

The thing about Reggie is he doesn't fill any NEED on your team. This is a problem. If the fins think they can cut Ronnie Brown and go with their first round pick and RB at running back they are in for a surprise. They still will need another running back.

Great move by Loomis. I'm hoping we scored a lot more than we think on this trade.. We did trade him pretty fast, this makes me believe that the fins might have offered a higher pick that we expect. Then again we might have jumped at the opportunity to just trade him for anything considering how much it saves us on the cap- it bails us out.

i believe polititians say more things to incite the stupid people than to calm them these days.

I don't think it was just PR by the Saints. They wanted him back, but only at their number. There was no way they could pay him the $5 mil per year the Dolphins are willing to pay because that would be more than Pierre Thomas, Ingram, Ivory, Colston, etc., etc. are getting. A $5 million contract for Bush would have inflated all their future deals and/or annoyed players who produced more than he does. If Bush would have agreed to an incentive laden deal worth around $2.5 to $3 million per year, he would still be a Saint.

Reggie's lack of production and injury history are obviously Jeff Duncan's fault.

Is it wasn't for Duncan beng a Reggie h8terz he wouldz have been dominate for teh Saints.

You just don't realize that we now have the slowest offense in the NFL and maybe all of football without Bush.

Wrong... We're going to get Sproles now.

...

Seriously though... I've been wading through the cesspool that is the SSF, and it's been helpful because when I click back over to the VG, I feel like I'm at a 5* resort.

Imagine that... Just visiting another board can make even THIS place seem nice.
