The Vick Gesture (MERGED AGAIN x4) (4 Viewers)

To compare Brooks and Vick in terms of heart and leadership, well that's pretty ludicrous, Brooks doesn't have an ounce the heart of Vick...Don't be so blind, ...the man [Vick] is one of the most competitive, warriors in the game today. He was the ONLY reason they were in the game today...

I don't think Brooks lacks heart to play the game. He never quit, and I do not recall anyone statting that he lacks heart to play the game. He may have given people the impression he lacks heart with his "easy- going" manner, however, It was this same "easy- going" demeaner that led to his leadership issues.

I think Vick's leadership becomes an issue when he points the finger at others. On other words, he hung his receivers out to dry. He called them out publicly. It isn't a leadership quality you want in a QB. Vick is frustrated and he is letting get the better of him. It could end up costing him respect from his teammates. This is somethig Brees would never do.

I find the comparing debatable, in light of Vick's latest statements and gestures.

As for the recievers dropping passes because they never had leadership...:_rofl: how about NO, they're dropping passes because they SUCK......Crumpler didn't seem to have any problems catching balls against us and the rest of the league the last couple years, maybe Lelie and White or whatever his name is just sucks........

Ok, everyone sucks, except for Crumpler,... well there's no argument there,

Seems something like this would eventually happen with the kind of fans over there in Atlanta....

First, though this has been said already, anyone who argues that Vick's gesture was toward Saints fans is either insane or colorblind.

Second, it now all makes sense to me. It was a long game. Vick was tired and frustrated by the loss. He saw that woman wearing a #7 jersey and thought, in his haze, that it was Mike Vick. So he did what all Falcons fans wanted to do and gave Mike Vick the bird. Indeed, if you could read his lips, I am sure that he said something like "Hey Vick! Learn how to read a defense you overpaid hack!"

On a more serious note, if I did this to my customers, my boss would be upset at me. I'd probably lose my job. Vick will get a fine that basically equates to 1/100,000 of his net worth or something. It won't affect him in the least.

I wish that more of these guys realized that the fans are what enable them to live a very comfortable life for playing a kid's game. I always feel a little foolish paying so much money to watch these guys and realizing that, for the vast majority of them, fans are objects of either disdain or humor.

They are clearly not booing him, they are cheering him on for his great running skills.....

I was at the game and the way that place emptied out when the falcons were still in it (a good bit of people had left when it was 24-13, i believe), I can't blame him.

Add the frustration of the game which should have been a lot closer if there was some stick'um in the locker room combined with the ample available degrading comments towards Vick [Both of his fault (Ron Mexico) and not (Coach-Killer!)]. I can see how it would happen.

It doesn't make it right, but while the falcons fans were all nice to me, it was pretty obvious they weren't comitted to rooting for the team either. It was NOT a Superdome atmosphere. It got loud like three times.

It just seems that relationship has soured to the point of disrepair.

from looking at the picture on the ajc website it sure looks like it was falcons fans in that section and not Saints fans. I could be blind, but I didn'tsee any black and gold.

Vick issued an apology, and it sounds JUST LIKE his brother's apology that he made when he flipped off fans at Vir. Tech! They read both on the radio this morning, and they were almost word-for-word!
