Well, I am not the running machine I once was but I am way stronger now and have a lot more muscle - which is really important for women as we age. Most elderly women are in nursing homes either due to loss of mental faculties or from an inability to move, directly related to loss of estrogen. I am definitely prioritizing muscle over cardio. I still do cardio, just not running (stairs or bike) & for much shorter amount of time.
Any trampoline workout?

I got hit by a car while running back in 2020. Had to go to ER for full work up but I was ok. The ER doc said two things saved me: 1) I knew how to roll so I didn’t put my arm out and break my wrist, then face plant; 2) X-ray of my pelvis showed as opaque white, meaning my pelvis, femur, and trochanter are very dense.

He said “Brother keep doing what you’re doing. The weights and the running make your bones dense. Whatever gets you won’t be osteoporosis. Most people I see your age trip over their walkers” :hihi:

I was 60 at the time

I admire runners - I am not nor have I ever been one. I’ve never run any marathons or anything serious outside of a few charity/community events. For me, it has only been about health and keeping weight off.
It took me a long time to build up to where I am now. With your focus on muscle strength, I’d bet it wouldn’t take you long to back in the swing of things when it comes to running.
I did 5 marathons back in the day and probably 20 half marathons. Trying to decide if I have another half in me

not being the physical beast you once were...gosh, what is that like?

We need a SR.com race. It should be a hash, where we run from bar to bar, drinking a 12-oz draft at each. What could possibly go wrong??
