Agreed. However, that is not decided the day of the draft. Let's see them play before anointing them starters or stars. If you walk away from a draft with 4 starters...1 of which is a star.... you have had a very productive draft... The star makes it a great draft
I am liking what I see here also
I think we had a solid draft. However, by comparison to the comments above, couldn't someone say that about these players? Bresee and Miller are coming off of injuries. Haener is very small. Salvideri supposedly has shorter arms for his size which is why he is going to be moved inside. Perry has had a terrible case of the drops. Many players have question marks or concerns.Less risky? Anzelone was a shoulder injury waiting to happen. Lattemore fell from the top 3 to us at 11 - several teams passed on him despite being projected to go higher - he had major injury issues in college (hamstring surgeries). Ramczyk was a one year starter at Wisconsin. Hendrickson had short arms and played at a small school. Those, by your standards, were far riskier picks.
That was a great read. Thanks.Does Size Really Matter for Running Back Prospects?
Every year the dynasty football community is enamored with running backs. They may have the shortest careers, but drafting a successful running back in the first round can have an immediate impact on your fantasy team’s success. On the flip side, using your pick on anything less than an...www.4for4.com
It seems the Saints staff are pleased with how the draft went too.
MSU!Great job, @draftfreak. I will make this thread a stickie when the draft is over. It was a couple of years ago we traded the next year's 6th for a late 7th. I think it was for the Ole Miss QB that was supposed to be a Taysom clone.
Howden is supposed to be a ST beast. If he can't compete on D he'll probably get a spot just from that.Possible, but history is against you on this one. Can't really guess at who won't make the roster, but I think it's likely that at least one doesn't. If I had to pick one, I guess I would say Howden. But hey, who knows? Maybe all 7 make the team. THAT alone would make this one of our best draft classes.
If you’re referring to MT as that possession receiver that’s the wrong draft. We got Marcus Williams in the second round of 2017 and outside of his sometimes woeful tackling, was an amazing safety that had insane range. So much we couldn’t afford him. Your point still stands, just pointing that out.I don't. Hell, 2017 seemed like a hell of a gamble to me at the time. A corner whose hammies betrayed him constantly in college, a tackle who'd left football entirely at one point, a possession receiver from a school that at the time wasn't exactly churning them out like they have since Hartline got there, a RB who couldn't really get on the field much at either Bama or Tennessee, a linebacker who was constantly injured, a short-armed small school edge LB and a DE who didn't make it more than one season for the team. My point is, none of those picks were safe bets. They just happened to pan out well because of coaching, their drive to be good, or health issues fading. Aside from Anzalone. Dude was electric when he could stay on the field, but I'm glad he's moved on.
This is a winning pick right here. A man after my own heart.
whats his name not in the opening article or in your messageSmart, strong, and great size. A little something I like to call The Drafter's Trifecta
TBH, I dunno if he wasWhich OL would you have gone for at the top of the 4th?
Agreed! Like I said before, even post draft, I felt the ‘17 class was a good one! But WHOEVER thought it would be DAT good, ESP so early on as ROOKIES n would b arguably end up being one our best draft classes EVER… is lyin!!!I think we had a solid draft.
