NFL Draft This is A Great Draft for the Saints - all 7 picks (1 Viewer)

What is making you think this draft is that good?
That good? Not as good as 2017? But, still great? well, we are filling huge needs with very, very good players that can come in and contribute early. Haener will likely be the only one who won't be a heavy contributor this season. He'll likely be our good back-up for years. What's making you think it is not a great draft?

Your opinion is one thing…. And that’s fine. But Achane proved he’s much more than a 3rd down speed back. If you think that, you clearly have watched him much. He ran rough shot over some of the best SEC defenses in the country…. And not just with speed. LSU is still trying to tackle him today. Lol

I’m going to be shocked if Achane is not in the OROY discussion this season.
I watched almost all of his games, actually. I have seen him shut down over and over again by good defenses. He's a very good player and was great in college at times. But, at 180 to 190 pounds, he has serious size limitations. He is a speedster that can't be much more than a 3rd down back or an occasional slot guy.

Be prepared to be shocked.

We watched different games then. Because I’ve seen him win with speed, quickness, breaking tackles, hands, and toughness. I care as much about his size as I cared about Shady McCoys size.

He’s never gonna be a 2 down down hill 230 lbs bruiser. But most modern NFL backs ain’t that anymore.

He’ll be what he is. And that’s much more than a 3rd down scat back. I’d bet on that.

Ok. I think he'll be a good player who is a good return man and does good on occasion out of the backfield. He has value, but he's not a 3 down RB.

Very solid draft other than the Haener head-scratcher (which could turn out to be long-term genius, LOL). They didn't reach for underdeveloped athleticism in the early rounds but went instead with players who are likely to help the team sooner rather than later. They took a boom or bust shot with Howden but that's exactly the place they should be taking those.

I'm a little upset about the lack of picks at LB and TE but I have a feeling they know they either already have superior talent than what was left or can get solid players cheap in FA.

Yeah, I’m definitely siding with the guy who’s moniker is draftfreak on this post. Looking at each pick, there’s a clear fit and need, and these guys are graded very highly for what we want them to be.

This draft feels to me like the best we’ve ever had. I’m very pumped how things have worked out.

First two picks look extremely promising at positions of need (albeit some minor injury concerns). Everything past that is just a huge question mark project. Might pan out but as of right now I’m not going to mention them in the same breath as 2017 until I see otherwise.

He’s given in depth reasons. And you did insult him after you misread his earlier post.
Was not an insult. I’m not seeing any remote 2017 comparison and it’s too early for that anyway.

As far as insult? I’ve been subjected to a lot of ridicule on here myself for questioning one of the picks last night.

This is turning into an absolutely great Saints draft...

1 - Bryan Bresee - DT - He is athletic, is very smart, has long arms and great size and size potential, a quick 1st step, is naturally strong and powerful, and has a high upside.
2 - Isaiah Foskey - He is athletic, is very smart, has great size and length, has a great 1st step, already good pass rusher, and high upside.
3 - Kendre Miller - He has awesome balance and lower body strength, is very smart, has good vision, has quick feet, and high upside.
4 - Nick Saldiveri - He is smart, athletic, has great length and feet to play T or G, has ideal size and size potential, can play anywhere on the line, and a high upside.
4 - Jake Haener - He is very smart, has a quick release, is accurate, is athletic with great pocket awareness, has good to very good arm strength, and he has high upside.
5 - Jordan Howden - He is very smart, fast, athletic, has ideal size, and has a ton of experience at both safety and corner. He has 49 career starts in the Big 10.

This is impressive.
Sounds like 6 hall of famers!

To be fair, you didn't question it. You got in your feelings about it and posted 40+ times about it and insisted that people were conspiring against Spears.
