It's why I think DA gets a third year, I think he and the Saints are going to rehaul the offensive coaching staff like they did the defense this past off-season.

Who, knowing what they know about this team and DA, is going to want to come to work under DA and then get fired after next season? Even a top tier position coach is better off staying with their current team and waiting for a better situation than having the pressure of saving a bad head coaches job. Especially one as uninspiring as DA.

That's one narrative, but if the organization is backing DA then whomever comes in as a OC replacement comes in knowing they have job security.

Job security in the NFL is fickle. Especially once season ticket sales are slow and the boos penetrate the owners box at home.

Unless he's a confident creative OC that gets the O to do what he wants with. He could be thinking that if he turns the O around, which I think is not that hard to do. He'd be sitting pretty for a HC position. But one thing has to happen Marrone must go

An average QB with a bad O-line can get you 5 to 6 wins. An average QB with a good O-line can get you 8 to 9 wins. Either way, we will not go far with Carr.

You might want to take a look at that offensive line. They had 3 pro-bowlers and a 1st team all-pro that season. That Raiders team could really run the ball and pass block.

The only reason why I’m giving Carr a bit of slack this year is because PC sucks!

Even superstars like Alvin Kamara haven’t had a great year because of this offense. He runs into a wall immediately..

Stud: There is but one stud on this line, and his name is Jared Veldheer (+22.2). Emerging as one of the better left tackles in the league, he’s not quite lockdown yet, but he’s pretty close.

Dud: From the first snap Willie Smith (-19.0) was on the field he looked like a guy who was going to have trouble with speed rushers. And so it proved. He made Khalif Barnes look like a world-beater by comparison.

Summary: The zone blocking scheme was a huge failure, and once again it feels like this unit is starting from scratch. Mike Brisiel looked like an ill-advised signing for a team short on funds and so it proved, meaning only Veldheer and Stefen Wisniewski are guys you can count on heading into 2013.
