Let's face it. Rattler simply is too green right now for the hand he's being dealt. He's hesitating on decisions and he doesn't have time for that as he's running for his life behind a decimated offensive line.

I'm not expecting Haener to be some magical answer, nor at this point do I think he has more potential to be the future QB than Rattler does. However, I do think that with a year on Rattler, he has a better shot at producing points than Rattler does. He's got a year of NFL under him, watching and learning. He has a better idea how fast dbs and pass rushers are, and who is open enough to throw to and who isn't. He won't be perfect, he'll make mistakes as well, but he has a better grasp of the NFL right now than Rattler does.

I still think Rattler is the more talented and will be the more polished player in the long run but right now the more polished player is Haener, so he should start for now while Rattler continues to watch, learn, get a deeper knowledge of plays, and a better understanding of the difference between the college and professional speed of the game and the talent.

If the Saints just want Rattler to learn from the "school of hard knocks" and aren't worried about destroying his confidence behind that patchwork line, they can keep playing him, but I think it smarter for him in the long run to sit and watch for now.

Just my thoughts.

I fear for any qb playing on the team now. Prayers and Gods speed

Its unfair to ask a rookie QB to learn with this support group around him. When they announced Rattler as the starter, I figured it was because he could buy time with his legs. It's not working, he's getting killed. Not counting QB, we have Olave, Shaheed, Taysom, Ruiz and McCoy out. Now we're down some backups who were forced in to the startling lineup as well. It's just an impossible task.

Switching QBs changes nothing…. Unless that QB is future HOFer Taysom Hill.
I fully agree ( even with a towel?) but if TH#7 isn't healthy, don't hurt him and allow the smoother Heaner handle the show~! Jake is good, not great but seems far more comfortable that Rattler ( everyone get past and OVER the name insinuation~! This kid gets "rattled" he's certainly NOT rattling defense in this League) So? Give it to Jake~! He's a SAINT and knows the players and plays and beat cancer and dealt with all of that and is clearly an NFL QB, so let him earn his $s and show up and show out!! I'll be there next Sunday for The Charger game and would love to see Jake kick some Charger behind~! Give the ball to Jake for the WIN~!

I would like to see Haener start a game instead of only getting to play in garbage time... so we can make sure it isn't just garbage time magic. If Rattler is the future I would like to see if Haener has trade value. If Haener is actually a legit NFL QB I don't want to wait until he starts for the Falcons to find out.
