Today in 1982 (3 Viewers)

Not recalling the anniversary, I listened to the entirety of Diary of a Madman coming into work today... loved Randy's playing and his tone was outstanding.

Irrelevant extra info: My drive is a bit longer than the CD (Spotify), so I followed it up with Zebra - No Telling Lies. We wuz jammin!!!

Too bad he didnā€™t know the importance of avoiding flying with a stupid pilot. šŸ˜¢

He was, amazing player, sucks that we never got to see him evolve......I feel there was a real loss of guitar influence with both him and SRV's untimely deaths.....
VH1 had a series called behind the music. Ozzies wife Sharon told a great story about Randy. His mother enrollred him in
the most prestigious school in L.A. due his guitar love. The Instructor called Randy's mom 6 weeks after he joined. He told her I Can't teach him anymore.

Haha, I remember that story.....I also have read where he was really into classical/baroque and may have eventually drifted into different genres had he lived....the greatest players IMO tend to do this.....

Yep, it's widely agreed by music historians that Hendrix was drifting into Jazz at the time of his death.
