Today in Movie & TV History (1 Viewer)

I start to lean one way and then I go the other. I can’t recall a main cast member I didn’t like.

My argument is more with people who refuse to see Knotts as anything other than Barney Fife… but i will say it: Ralph Furley > Barney Fife…. Fight me, i dont care

Never saw one single episode .

Im not sure what accounted for my taste in tv shows as a kid.. i was all over The Fall Guy, The A Team, Moonlighting , Matt Houston, et al but wasnt really a viewer of Hunter, TJ Hooker, Remington Steele or many others .
Same. There was a funny show in the late 80’s I think it was Hammer or something. Funny as heck.

I loved this show. Loved all the cast and while my friends were talking about the blonde I was talking about Janet.

I did too, I was like 14 in 1977 when it debuted, I thought it was the funniest show ever at that time....

I feel like Don Knotts saved the show. I think without him, the show would have not made it more than a couple seaons without Somers. Not a knock on Terri's character, but Knotts brought the ditzyness back that was lost with Chrissy.

im remembering a late 70s show - it was somewhere between an anthology show and basic procedural
under the same umbrella you could get 1 of 3 possibilities - one was like a texas detective working in NY (he even rode his horse on the streets in the promo - maybe it was dennis weaver)
another one might have been hart to hart??

eta
man it's wacky what the brain does
Colombo was actually the 3rd in the 'umbrella' and i transposed 'McMillan & Wife' for 'Hart to Hart' which, i think, is understandable...:

Of course all the attention went to Glenn Close but, man, Anne Archer was steaming hot in that movie.....very underrated actress IMO....

if fear of bunny cooking is what keeps you together, i'm not sure 'saved' is the operative word

in college i had a gf who claimed that if i broke up with her she would 'harm herself' or take my dog or both
i did not want her taking my dog so i toughed it out a few more weeks - nothing was going to save that relationship
