Trevor Penning is PFF’s top graded Saint; Penning is highest graded NFL OT in Week 10 (3 Viewers)

New Orleans Saints midseason awards: Team MVP, Breakout of the Year so far

Whoever "Darrion Gray" is has absolutely zero football IQ. Bresee is having a horrible year. Career lows in pass rush win rate and run stop %.

Sacks don't mean he's having a good year. Clearly he's just looking at the stat sheet.

TP also got blown by and gave up a sack fumble....

PFF grades play by play. One bad play vs one good play. 50.0 is an average game. 61 means more good plays than bad.
Ehhhh... That sack fumble kind of iffy. Carr pocket awareness was atrocious on that play. Penning funnel that defender perfectly, but Carr just didn't want to step up and take that available real estate. Weird Carr mental lapses.

It was a weird play and would give a slight negative grade to both not just one.

This is just absolutely not correct whatsoever.

It was play action pass and Carr was in the middle of stepping up when he was hit by Pennings defender. Penning also held his defender so it should have been a penalty.

He is correct, DC makes no fake to AK so no PA. DC was a bit deep on his drop, he dropped 8yds and it should have been 7 and his step up was a bit slow. Now it was not TP's best pass rep but most of it was DC's fault. And it was not a strip sack because there was no sack. And you are out of your mind if you thing that was holding , TP had his right arm inside and rode him past DC. NOT holding SMH

SMH do you even read what he says???? AS A PASS RUSHER

PFF may not be totally accurate but I'll bet if they graded TP low you'd be saying they were gospel. But yu will find that TP is an ELITE top 5 run blocker

Penning finally playing well and yall wanna swap him back to LT? I swear...
Fuaga had a pretty good game vs Myles Garrett too, but there are no two for ones on SR.com, someone is always exchanged for the other on the firing squad on SR.com.

Someone has to be underperforming or there is no reason to create a thread about the Saints.

Clearly we are watching completely different plays. No worries I can break it down for you.

The second Carrs back foot of his final drop back hits the turf Penning has already lost the rep.

Again at this point the rep has been lost. Pennings only choice is to try and hold the defender.

Pennings inside hand is around the neck of the defender. Classic holding. Penning himself notices this and immediately throws his hands up in an attempt to not get flagged.

Unfortunately the defender makes a great play on the ball and shoots his hand inside and knocks it away from Carr.

Penning played a good game but he 100% lost this rep. Saying otherwise is just ridiculous.

Penning played an overall fine game. Never did I say he didn't. He's just responsible for the sack fumble which is part of playing OT in the NFL.

You can win 99 out of 100 reps and the one you lose can be game changing. Lucky for us the ball bounced our way and we recovered.

Penning is on an upward trajectory and looks promising for sure but there's no reason to just blindly glaze him.

I disagree, 1st look how far DC has dropped over 8yds on what should have been a 7 step 7yd drop back, and he takes a too large last step. Plays like that happen EVERY game in the NFL it is NOT holding, you can have your arm around the rusher's neck as long as you don't pull him down it is NOT called. And TP is not pull him but pushing him. As far as him throwing his hands up? You are seeing what you want to see, it's not demonstrative to indicate he was doing so

The only thing i will say is, look at where Penning and his defender is compared to the rest of the OL in that 1st snapshot. Penning is supposed to be trying to stonewall for the play like everyone else.

You say he lost the rep but it sure looks like he's just guiding his guy way behind the play. I've seen other teams do this to our pass rushers on countless plays. There was a perfect pocket for Carr to step up in but he instead chose an abnormally deep drop.

He did not choose his drop LMAO that's the play design.

Are we being serious? What on earth is going on in this forum lately???

Fuaga did a fantastic job as a rookie going up against a guy who has a pretty good chance of being in the Hall of Fame one day.
