Decision was to keep and believe in Marcus Davenport----Front office blew it plain and simpleHe was an oft injured player who broke out in his final year after decisions had been made. The breakout priced him out of our range. The decision was to keep Marcus Williams.
Because Jordan's extension came before he was on an expiring contract! He was set to be a FA in 2021. That means his 2019 extension (he was 29ys old then) CREATED CAP SPACE because the contract he was playing on was heavily backloaded to accommodate Brees' refusal to sign a real contract in 2016 instead of finishing out his playing years (2017-2020) on "one year" deals that ate up over 10% of the cap.
Facts are not excuses.Bad cap management set the team back. Covid cap reduction is just an excuse. Saints played with fire and got burned when their credit card limit went down instead of up.
Nice decision as usualHe was an oft injured player who broke out in his final year after decisions had been made. The breakout priced him out of our range. The decision was to keep Marcus Williams.
Forgot Anzalone tooYou forgot Kaden Ellis bro. We had a probowl defense
But that’s not the purpose of this thread let’s add Al-quadin Muhammad to the listHindsight is 20/20.
Imagine if a thread was made for every player the Saints didn’t re-sign yet busted on other teams…
Davenport was in the 3rd year of his rookie contract. We did not keep him over Hedrickson.Decision was to keep and believe in Marcus Davenport----Front office blew it plain and simple
