N/S Trey Hendrickson has back to back 17.5 sack seasons (2 Viewers)

He was an oft injured player who broke out in his final year after decisions had been made. The breakout priced him out of our range. The decision was to keep Marcus Williams.
Decision was to keep and believe in Marcus Davenport----Front office blew it plain and simple

How in the world does a post that only stats the facts deserve a Clown?
Because Jordan's extension came before he was on an expiring contract! He was set to be a FA in 2021. That means his 2019 extension (he was 29ys old then) CREATED CAP SPACE because the contract he was playing on was heavily backloaded to accommodate Brees' refusal to sign a real contract in 2016 instead of finishing out his playing years (2017-2020) on "one year" deals that ate up over 10% of the cap.

Resigning Jordan did not lead to losing TRex and no revisionist history will change that fact.

It's sort of crazy that he played this year with no guaranteed money on his deal. You can bet he's not doing that again now. CIN will have a mess on it's hands between that; Tee as a FA, Chase requiring the highest ever contract for a WR and still needing to address a bad defense.

Davenport was in the 3rd year of his rookie contract. We did not keep him over Hedrickson.
I agree the FO probably thought he would become a top DE...

& almost any FO would have given Cam Jordan the contract extension in 2019 instead of letting him leave...

Again hindsight is always 20/20.
That was a tough set of circumstances for any organization.
