40 time aside, To put into perspective just how agile Jayson Oweh is for his size only two career linebackers, Barrett Browning and Garrett Wallow, had both a 4.2 or better shuttle and a sub 7.00 3 cone time like Jayson Oweh.

But again, he smoked both Wallow and Browning in the 40 too.

He even tied Kwon Alexander's shuttle time and beat his 3 cone and 40.

He also beat Demario Davis in all 3 drills.

Like I said in another thread, I think that Oweh is athletic enough to play middle linebacker and outside linebacker like Adalius Thomas if a team wanted to put him there.

Brian Urlacher was a safety/Rover in college and tested just as agile but was also nowhere near as fast as Oweh.

The other potential MLB option is Joseph Ossai.

His Tape against Utah in 2019 and against OK St in 2020 was as dominant as you will see for a linebacker on any level.

He is as fast as Zaven Collins but posted an even better vertical (41.5") which made him only the 2nd 250+lb linebacker since 2000 besides Bud Dupree to post above 40" vertical.

Unlike Zach Baun Joseph Ossai actually did play Middle linebacker in college where he started 13 games there in 2019 and posted 90 tackles and 5 sacks.

I'm pretty sure that if Collins is off the board these guys would make very good alternatives.

There's a whole lot more to playing MLB in the NFL than 3 cone and shuttle drills.
If drill times ment any thing Stephone Anthony would be head and shoulders better than Zach Thomas.
That is true but even though Zach Thomas might have been slow in the 40 he still had a stellar 4.2 shuttle.

He was also far more productive than Anthony in college posting 390 tackles and even had 20 tackles in a game.

Oweh also has a better 3 cone than Anthony and 40.

He projects much better as a linebacker than lineman and already exhibits elite linebacker traits.

He is also a very productive run stopper.

Compare Brian Urlacher's RAS to Jayson Oweh's as a pure linebacker.

Oweh's Shuttle and 3 cones are nearly identical with only a 1lb weight difference between them.

The Saints are pretty settled with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Zavin Collins, and Jamin Davis.

I hear a little rumble of Oweh and Ossai. Let me look into it tho...

I honestly would look out to see if we do the following...

We trade up for a corner... And we trade back into the 1st for a linebacker.

If Jeremiah falls... This trade up may switch depending what's available at CB.

We still Jabril Cox proday on the 26th. If Saints are happy. They may just settle for him in the 2nd.

Trade up for a CB and then possibly trade back into the 1st for a LB????

JOK is the size of a Safety at only 221 and Jamin Davis is also lanky and can't set the edge or stack and shed like a 260lber like Ossai, Collins or Oweh.

Davis also is a one year wonder, only posting 5 tackles for loss in his entire career. He is more of a 3rd down specialist than an every down player. Davis makes Stephone Anthony look elite by comparison. Anthony finished with 34.5 TFL in his college career.

Yep..trading up for a CB is basically gonna happen... Just they can't touch our Future 1st, because of team outlook.

The linebacker one is basically dependent on opportunity.

That's sounds good on paper but there really isn't a CB worthy of trading up for that's likely better than Kelvin Joseph, Rashad Wildgoose, or Paulsen Adebo in RD two.

I'd bet that all 3 are every bit as talented as Surtain and Horn at a much Cheaper price tag in rd 2-3.

I also really like Benjamin St. Juste and Keith Taylor Jr in the middle rounds who were outstanding at the Senior bowl.

I'll be honest... I'm not a fan of Davis and Collins isn't game changing player for me to trade up for over Jabril Cox in the 2nd.

JOK vision and instinct and player that really moonlight as a S/LB hybrid is pretty stellar. He films very well and really fits the new wave profile that can change the game like an Alvin Kamara.

He's the only LB that I would be willing to trade back up into the 1st to get.

It's really Greg Newsome/Farley or bust.

Trading up for Horn or Surtain would be a mistake.

it's not that they are overrated necessarily but neither are Darrell Revis and probably not even Marshone Lattimore.

Farely has the Back issue and I agree that Newsome is good but not better than Joseph, Wildgoose or Adebo.

The word is that we expect a run on CB. Newsome or Farley aren't making to our pick.

3 names... Greg Newsome, Caleb Farley, and Ughhhh... Kelvin Joseph.

Joseph is mad suspect in zone and bites a lot.

Farley's back is fine. In a passing league... CB are a hot commodity. Even if he has a shorter than desire prime career. Farley is the most pro ready and a herniated disk isn't an athletically crippling injury. I be more worried about his non-contact ACL tear. I would put a red flag for him on having a very weak body. Yet, if he can be a good corner for say 5-7 years and he falls. I'd draft him.

Beggars can't be choosers.

Jaycee Horn is gonna be a riser. I think he's going top 18 with Surtain.

Where will trade up is probably early 20s.
