The word is that we expect a run on CB. Newsome or Farley aren't making to our pick.

3 names... Greg Newsome, Caleb Farley, and Ughhhh... Kelvin Joseph.

I'd be surprised if Farley is taken in round 1 after 2 back surgeries and an ACL.

Joseph is mad suspect in zone and bites a lot.

Farley's back is fine. In a passing league... CB are a hot commodity. Even if he has a shorter than desire prime career. Farley is the most pro ready and a herniated disk isn't an athletically crippling injury. I be more worried about his non-contact ACL tear. I would put a red flag for him on having a very weak body. Yet, if he can be a good corner for say 5-7 years and he falls. I'd draft him.

Jaycee Horn is gonna be a riser. I think he's going top 18 with Surtain.

Where will trade up is probably early 20s.

Farley is good but I'm not sold that he is better than Joseph who shut down Devonta Smith one on one or Paulsen Adebo or Wildgoose.

Farely played a good game vs Chase Claypool winning two out of three deep pass attempts his way later in the game but If Ian Book had been more accurate Claypool would have beaten him for a 35 yard TD. Instead the ball was badly underthrown and intercepted at (6:06)

I've done mocks on the PFF simulator where I got Zaven Collins in rd 1 and tried to steal Ossai in round two but he always never quite makes it to pick 60.

I'm pretty sure that a guy like Bill Bellichic sees the same thing that I do in Oweh and I wouldn't be surprised if a 3-4 team takes him to play linebacker as early as the middle of round one.

Oweh would even eclipses the top all time RAS ( Relative Athletic Scores) scores for a linebacker (perfect 10) scored by none other than Luke Kuechly and Manny Lawson.

Both Kuechly and Lawson also had 4.20 or better Shuttles and sub 7.00 3 cones but neither were 260lbs like Brian Urlacher or Oweh and none ran a 4.36.

That Ossai vs Utah tape is some good stuff. Reminds me of watching LaVar Arrington and Patrick Willis when they were in college. They always seemed to be at the bottom of the pile. Didn't matter if it was a tackle for loss or a 20 yard completion. It was like a magic trick.

I like Ossai a lot but Oweh scares me for our defense. He could work hard to be a LBer but it's going to take awhile. If we ran a 3-4 I'd be all over him. Last season's inexplicable sack total doesn't bother me at all. I watched every game and it was a total fluke. He's going to be able to rush the passer.

Ossai is flying under the radar as a MLB.

He already has a season of Experience as a MLB and was moved to the "Jack" OLB/DE position in a 4-2-5 defense just like Dennis Allen runs already. He is also 20lbs heavier and slightly faster than Baun.

I think that you have to let athletes like Oweh just be athletic like the Lobos did with Brian Urlacher and the Pat's and Ravens did with Adalius Thomas and the 49ers did with Julian Peterson and just move them around to several positions.

Urlacher was amazing and even played offense and kick returner in college because his coach wanted to use every ounce of his athletic ability.

I don't really have a doubt in my mind that Oweh could play several linebacker positions even in a 4-2 or 4-3 as well as MLB. His Shuttle and 3 cone and Vertical was also Identical to that of Devin White as well and he also had a faster 40 and better Broad jump than he did too.





I made a similar thread here about a college DE turned NFL linebacker in 2009 by the name of Connor Barwin. Barwin had a pretty good career and ended up now as an assistant GM in Philadelphia.

As the resident PSU fan I do not want Oweh kid may turn out to be good but throwing him at LB is an unknown and he wasn’t even the best Edge talent on that team. Shaka Toney in the third would be a much better pick

If you're drafting him with the idea that he can be an every down LBer it's possible but it could take some time. I agree, hence the thread proposing a move to linebacker.

Toney has much more natural "bend" around the arc and can dip and RIP much better than Oweh.

I think that Oweh would be much better in space and using his size, speed and change of direction standing up at Linebacker like Connor Barwin who also moved from College DE to Linebacker.

I hear what you are saying but look at Connor Barwin. I suggested way back when that he should be an OLB but the Texans started him a DE instead.

Even though he still had a respectable rookie season with 4.5 sacks and 8 qb hits in a rotation role he still fared much better in his very first year at OLb in 2011.

For a guy with all the requisite elite traits for a linebacker I really don't think that the transition will take quite as long as you think.

interestingly enough Barwin also had 28 qb hits in 2011 (the most of his career) in his first season at LB.

He also played inside linebacker in 2017 with the Rams and had 5 sacks and 12 qb hits.

He also played at a multitude of positions throughout his career like Adalius Thomas in the 3-4 and 4-3.

Yep..trading up for a CB is basically gonna happen... Just they can't touch our Future 1st, because of team outlook.

The linebacker one is basically dependent on opportunity.

God I hope not. It'd cost both 3rd's to get to 20.

After Newsome, I don't see anyone that warrants a first round pick at CB. So I wouldn't be shocked if they made the move. But there is value in Adebo, Keith Taylor, Tre Brown, and Benjamin St Juste.

Are we really that sold on Newsome? I like him, but he's not guaranteed.

If he's gone (which he almost certainly will be), I'd take a shot at Adebo.
