UEFA Champions League (1 Viewer)

Bump for the matches today.

Also, I’ve started back collecting cards and have focused on soccer. Starting some Pulisic and Vini Jr collections. Anyone else collect?

Mbappe definitely showed some class yesterday. He was taking Carvajal to school all day. And then that goal at the end. Against the team he'll probably sign with this summer. I'm sure RM liked seeing their future investment do well even if it cost them the match.

And Man City dismantled Sporting. Almost felt bad.

I was listening on Sirius and later saw the goal (but not Messi’s miss) sounded like he was all over the pitch
- splitting two defenders and megging the gk is just amazing

Sporting was just overmatched. I watched the first 30 min or so and then tuned out. Talent was on full display. That goal by Silva ( taking it on the half volley) was a thing of beauty.

RM was playing for the draw. That much was evident. If it wasnt for Courtois playing lights out for 92 min, it could have been 2,3 to 0.

Mbappe. All game long they would send an extra defender to double him just as he got to the 18. And every time he would push the ball toward end line and look to cross. Even got a PK ( Messi missed  ) on Carvajal.

Then, in the 92nd min, RM do what they had been doing all game, looking to push him to end line. Send a second defender.
Except this time, Mbappe SPLITS them with his quickness and next touch is his shot. I had to rewind twice just to see how devilishly clever that was. One of a VERY FEW who can pull that off. Exquisite play and knowing how to set up your next move. Chess vs Checkers.

They almost accomplished the draw. Courtois played so well. Saving Messi's PK and at least a couple other sure goals. Mbappe had that other shot that almost caught the far side post too. You're right that it really could have been 2 or 3 to nothing very easily.

MBappe is the best player on that team and he is still young at 23....unless he really wants to leave PSG is making a big mistake....

Yes, he is better than both Messi and Neymar at this point in their careers....IMO

ohhhhh RB Salz - Aaronson. Can they play the role of "giant killers" today? ???

Brendan Aaronson has some serious stamina. I watched him and he simply doesnt stop running.

Thought Salzburg had a chance to steal it but Bayern was relentless

Gonna watch Liverpool / Inter later.

YNWA. Good discipline and patience as Inter was playing a lot of guys behind the ball, but the possession advantage in the second half paid off.

Firmino might be my favorite player. Just something about a lead forward striker who doesn't worry all that much if he gets goals as long as they win. That must not be the easiest thing to prepare for, given the unorthodoxy.

And Salah is at his best when he is not being Salah, and then he is.

They did ...had Adeyemi passing that ball left instead of passing into goal (and allowing Pavard to make a fantastic open goal save) They win.

But he went for accuracy vs power and I get it. Just gutted for the 90 min effort put up by Salzburg.

I think that was actually Adamu, who’d scored the first goal

Maybe so. I couldn't believe how soft he struck. It was more like he was trying to guide it vs hitting it.

Then not 10 min later Coman gets behind last defender and boom.

But enjoyed the match. Always like to see a team punching above their weight and holding their own. RB has a ton of really young players.
