Did anyone read Stephen King's latest book, Under the Dome?

I just finished it I thought it was great, except for the climax with the fire. I was disappointed in that

My wife read it. Said it was almost as boring as a recent Koontz novel. It even had the random dog.

Koontz and King have been mailing it in for quite a few years now. King REALLY blew off the last 2-3 books of the Dark Tower series and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon was perhaps the book equivalent of the movie The Happening.

Koontz's Mr. Midnight or whatever, I can't remember the name that was somewhat a continuation of the original Watchers (arguably, his best work) was really unimaginitive.

i agree about tom gordon. i dodn;t like it, it wasn;t really about anything.

i haven;'t read koontz in at least 10 years

i started reading it after x-mas but i haven't picked it up in while....i was enjoying it but i have become lazy about reading

I find King to be one of the most boring authors still in print. I think I have read eight of his novels and yet there were only three different stories. He should have a disclaimer along the lines of "Some of the names have been changed to protect my Royalties".

As to the OP's question, I bought my wife the book about a month ago and she still hasn't finished it so I'm guessing that she does not have a good opinion of it as it would normally take her a day or two to devour a book of that size.

which novels would that be??

Koontz ha a book, the name of which I can't remember, where there was one brother who was incredibly strong and had some mutant power and the other brother was able to teleport. These kids were the result of one parent, the mother and the father as she/he was a hermaphrodite.

It was imaginitive.

I liked:

The Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile
Tommyknockers
It
Dolores Claiborne
Needful Things
The Drawing of The Three
The Mist - Short Story
Pet Semetary
Christine
Fire Starter
etc...

There are more but admittedly he had some stinkers.

i liked that Koontz book about the people who were randomly injected by some wacky doctor....they each ended up with some kind of "superpower"

and the one about the dude who can only go out at night...Seize the Night, i think

as for King, My favorite books by him are The Drawing of the Three and Desperation....

My favorite from Koontz is Dragon Tears. Just the thoughts of tic-toc actually existing weirded me out for awhile after reading that book.

Despseration & Regulators are linked like Delores Claiborne and Gerald's game are linked, only the former is MUCH more closely related. King liked to reference or cross reference his characters from one book to another.

I forgot which King novel I was reading, perhaps Pet Semetary but one of the characters caught a brief glimpse of Pennywise the killer clown in a storm drain.

I read Dragon Tears, I don t remember tic toc, I remember the Tick Tock man in Wizards and Glass and the Dark Tower series.
