Fair enough. But short term isn’t where this franchise, realistically, should be focused.

It seems different than Payton going to the Broncos. Payton was going to see if he could win with Wilson, and when it didn’t work out, they moved on.

In this case, it seems the team was prepared for a future without Carr, but he’s still here. I don’t get the sense that the team was excited about restructuring his deal. Last year, we got it done on February 23, this year it got done just a few days before the new league year.
