Underhill: I think everyone involved knows Carr cannot play this year at his current salary (53 Viewers)

Understood.

I see you’re still holding out hope that the Carr being released fantasy will come to fruition. 😂

I'm putting it with your fantasy that the Saints sign Davante Adams and draft Jeanty. We'll see if they grow. 😀

I get why they would keep Carr and why Moore would rather keep Carr and the ability to create cap space with him for his first year. I'd rather move on, but at this point I'm fine either way. But, I do think it's clear that something is going to have to be done with Carr's contract and if talks break down there is still some small possibility that they end up cutting Carr. I don't think it's likely but it is possible if Carr forces Loomis' hand.

If Carr is going to be the QB next year, why hasn't something been worked out by now? We have a number, he has a number. Isn't it pretty simple?

Nope. It would require Carr and Saints to negotiate whether it's a paycut or void extension. Won't be a restructure

I would say that just because something hasn’t been announced or officially turned into the league doesn’t mean it isn’t effectively done.

Be patient. The news rollout on Carr and the others is coming.

The team has no obligation to report things in real time this time of year.

I don’t think players would see him as selfish. Even if a player or players thought he was “over paid,” (hypothetically) I doubt they would expect another player to give money back.

It sounds like bad business from a player’s standpoint.
You’re probably right.

There is NO NEED for an extension on Carr’s contract! There is 5 years left as it is.

He has two years left with 3 void years. To add more money to those void years. You have do a new void restructure.

Yes, but he doesn’t have to sign anything for that. The most you can prorate for is 5 years including the year it goes into effect.

Pretty sure Void extension are still extension and requires a new contract Everytime you do it. They can't prorate, because it would shift to the active contract not the voided extension.

I just don’t like being accused of something I didn’t do. I thought you were clowning too but the implication about me being “danced on” if wrong makes it sound like you really thought I have been gloating all this time since the news came out, and to me, I have not at all.

In fact, my very first post on the subject after the news came out was to say that even though the team has made the move, it doesn’t necessarily mean I am right about it because if it turns sideways, I (and the team) will turn out to have been wrong.

I’m not here to win a guessing game, just talk ball.
FWIW, as a sideline observer it’s about your talking in absolutes, like it can’t/won’t happen. Nolan’s reply was what I was thinking as well, and IMHO he was obviously making light of it.
