Underhill: Kellen Moore said he took this job with the idea that Derek Carr would be his QB (138 Viewers)

Even then people didn't like him. All the credit was given to Kubiak for the hot start.

The hatred for Carr ridiculously started with the Chipotle thing. But it continued with him incorrectly yelling at Olave and then getting into an argument on the field with McCoy. Then he wasn't here for the Super Bowl or Mardi Gras while Jameis Winston was here showing people how great it is to be here. So rightly or wrongly, he lost the fans early and has done little to change that. And at this point, I doubt anything could change it.

Winning will turn down the heat, but he will never be liked or certainly not loved here.
Let me quantify my post by saying I am from N.O. . I grew up on Banks st in Mid-City. I have lived in quite a few places as well. New Orleanians are some of the most insecure , petty people of any city I have ever lived, and those places include NYC, London, Houston , Tampa , Little Rock.
And remember I am FROM N.O. You could be the GOAT of any sport or public figure and if you don't from the get go profess your undying love and worship for the city no matter what you do you will never be accepted here.

On the other hand you could be a mediocre athlete or anything and get Fleur-di-lis tats all over your body and never take off your NOLA T-shirt and be covered in powdered sugar from Beinget's and you will do know wrong. ( See Jameis Winston)

I don't need Carr to tell me he loves me or that N.O. is the greatest city on earth. Or to eat at Parasol's every day , or to walk down Bourbon and tell people " I know where you got dem shoes " I need him to help my Saints win games. PERIOD , end of story

And let's not forget that the animosity toward Carr started before he was even signed. It didn't start with Carr eating at Chipotle.

As soon as news broke that Carr would be cut by the Raiders and the Saints were one of the interested teams, someone signed up a new account here and claimed to be a Raiders fan. That person started an anti-Carr campaign and that's all they posted. A lot of posters here jumped on the anti-Carr bandwagon. It seems like a big part of it was because they didn't want another of "DA's guys from the Raiders."

All that happened before Carr even signed a contract. Carr eating a Chipotle was blown out of proportion and unhinged from the reality of feeding young children in the middle of moving to a new city. It was used as another irrationally biased log to throw on the fire.

The anti-Carr sentiment is in large part a direct result of whoever created an account here to be relentlessly and constantly hypercritical of Carr in an obvious effort to stir up negative sentiments about Carr. I think that poster eventually got banned. That poster did the opposite of what the poster who created an account here a few days after the Saints first signed Winston did.
ABSOFREAKINGLUTLY what I have been saying for over 2 yrs . Why in the heck should he EVER lime N.O. or Saints fans when the hate started long before he took ONE snap. But you stay classy Saints fans

The $69 million next year pretty much guarantees Carr is off the team in ‘26, right?

I’m sure Moore thinks he can win with Carr and I don’t think he’s lying when he praises Carr and I never believed that shirt about Loomis forcing Carr on Moore. Given Mickey’s history if Moore wanted Carr gone he’d be gone.

Carr is a mid tier QB who can potentially thrive in Moore’s offense as they try to fix other areas on the team. But…I also think Moore realizes that this is more than likely a one year deal. He’s the guy…this year. Beyond that? Who knows.
CKM realizes just like we ALL should that 25 is a " let's see what happens " yr
If we win 10-11 games and maybe a playoff game that changes everything for true Saints fans. But the haters will still want the plane to crash with them on it because they hate the pilot

I remember that clown, I don't remember his name but he was also posting at RaiderForums and on twitter, bragging about making a troll account here and stirring up sheet. Someone said they looked up his RaiderForums activity and basically all he did there was bash on Carr as well.

Typical troll.

How good was Drew, or more accurately, our team results, when our defenses were bad?

How many times did Oakland/Vegas have a defense ranked better than 20th? None, and usually they were near the bottom.

Do you think Drew would have made the playoffs with last year’s coach, roster, and injuries?

How was Drew, or rather again, the team results when he didn’t have Sean Payton in 2012 and the defense was bad?

Sure, Carr shares fault, but football is a team game. Yes, you do need to have a strong team, competent defense and good coaches around you succeed, even the great Drew Brees.

I said that in the other thread, asking about Carr's restructure... I had mentioned how many playoff games Brees won when the O-line and defense weren't very good. And also how they didn't even make the playoffs the last few years when the team around him was bad. Someone actually gave me the Clown reaction for bringing up truth. :ROFLMAO:

Kellen Moore saw that “highlight” reel DC4’s brother posted on social media and Kellen was like……

The one Mick chopped up personally.

Fascinating, you may have mentioned it 4 or 5 times already. Shall I share my curiosity about the efficacy of chocolate teapots, or shall we call
I don't need to keep going on about it, you see. I know it doesn't matter to anyone else or is indeed even worth going on about.

That's the difference.
Well, chocolate teapots suck...lol

I dont hate or love Carr.

PFT says we can trade him after June 1.

My concern is Carr 100% does not fit CKMs style and system, which means it wont be CKMs proper system.

I still would not be surprised if we get Pickett, and pickets is starting by week 10 due 'to injury'
LOL I think that's pretty ridiculous. CKM has adapted to 3-4 different styles of QB. In fact there is no consensus as to what CKM system IS. And you're saying that DC 100% does not fit his system when you don't know what that system is. SMH

I have never complained about hospital balls and didn't see him as being at fault when Olave got concussed going over the middle. I just know that since he got here, he rarely throws over the middle unless it's a deep ball. And that is going to be important to do with the crossing routes that Moore seems to like to run. Maybe he can do it and the scheme didn't call for it or we didn't have the personnel, but he's going to have to start doing it soon.
Look at playcalling too. Carmichael rarely called those plays, his schemes were outdated and just plain bad at getting WRs open in space.

Kubiak had a really nice scheme and it looked unstoppable for 2.5 games... quite a few deep shots, WRs were getting schemed open with great playcalling.... then all the O-line injuries prevented him from getting Carr the protection he needed, or the RBs the holes they needed. All went to crap after the O-line injuries piled up.
