Saints met with QB Shedeur Sanders [Deion Sanders ok with Saints drafting Shedeur]

Should the Saints draft QB Shedeur Sanders if he falls to #9?

I don't know about salivating, but I would imagine that Dallas, Miami, and Indy could be in on Sanders at #12, #13, and #14. Miami is the least likely because of Tua, but with his concussion issues, they may want insurance and Sanders probably fits well in that scheme. Indy really has no QB and Dallas may want to get the successor to DAK in the house and there is an obvious connection between Jerry and the Sanders family.

And further down there are Pittsburgh and maybe the Rams looking for the successor to Stafford.
Is he a dog? Is he a fighter? Can he throw? Can he run? Will he faint when the pressure is on him? Will he put the game on his shoulders? Will he sacrifice himself for a first down? Does he have an elite and critical support staff? Is his career failing even an option? Answer these questions, and let me know. You’re paying for the will and determination, that’s what the rare trait would be. (Assuming he’s got the physical traits)

No it just means that he is hoping his son gets drafted in the top 10. Wouldn't you want that for your son? Wouldn't you care what team drafted your son? Wouldn't you want him to go to the team he wants to go to?

It mattered to Archie Manning and he made sure to pick where Eli went. And somehow we didn't have a problem with that, but we have an issue with Deion saying he would be happy for Shadeur to play for any of 4 or 5 teams?
Wonder why

Alex Smith with Spags defense is probably winning 2....lol. I've said it before and plant my flag on this hill. We should only care about upside in the skill positions because all modern quarterbacking requires you to do is to get the balls to your play maker. Jon Gruden hit the nail on the head when speaking about the modern game. If most your passes are going to be screens behind the line or 5 yard slants with the name of the game being space, I say get the BPA available for skill positions and defense and draft QBs based off their floor. Unless we begin depending more on dual threat QBs..
My thing is: all the best modern QBs have a playmaking element to them. Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, etc. Even Burrow has this crazy ability to beat you with his legs or throw deep on the move and crush you.

I’m not seeing that with anyone in this class other than Cam.

Then you didn't watch Jaxson Dart. That's all he did, and more. Better comp percentage. Over 200 yards more rushing yards (big diff). Only 40 or so less passing yards. 10 less TDs then Ward (big diff), 1 less int than ward, and more big plays then Ward.

And Dart did it against SEC defenses and a less talented Oline (big diff).

Eh. I guess I should have said they combine that big playmaking ability with all the other traits I’d want in a QB. Dart just isn’t it, imo.

Milroe has all the play making ability you want. Problem is that he has a very long way to go as a pocket passer. I agree about Dart. He has the mobility but he doesn't have a great arm and he needs to work on his accuracy and prove he can make plays outside of Kiffin's offense which is very QB friendly.

Yeah, Milroe would be intriguing to me with Moore.

Personally I wouldn’t want my father weighing in at all. I don’t like it when Archie does it either. These are grown men. Wherever they get drafted, they have to make the most out of it regardless of the situation.
Thats crazy to me. I dunno I think at 21 or 22 I wish my dad was alive to help me make decisions. Or atleast give me a much wiser perspective. Especially something Mt dad has over 3 decades of knowledge and experience

Yep. This guy, in Moore’s offense, intrigues the hell out of me.

And the thing I like the most about him, his floor is likely Taysom Hill-lite for a few years.

Milroe is maybe the most interesting player in this draft to me. And I don't recall seeing much of anything about him visiting with the Saints, or anyone else, or an Alabama Pro-Day. So either the Saints have no interest, or they don't want anyone to know they have interest. Or I haven't paid enough attention.

I’m not at all saying his dad shouldn’t help him make decisions, but where you are drafted is not your decision. That’s how it works for every player. Sanders is no different and to think he is different goes directly to my point that he has a big head. Both him and his dad do for thinking they can somehow manipulate teams they don’t like in to not drafting him.

That's not how it worked for Eli Manning and his dad. It's also not how it worked for John Elway and his father. Whereas, neither Shadeur nor Deion has said Shadeur won't play for any team. In fact, Deion basically just said the opposite.

I already stated this earlier, but it is not ok for Archie to do it neither John Elway’s dad. It’s straight up nepotism to think because you were in the NFL that your son should be treated differently than any other prospect.

The fact that he’s even listing team’s he’s ok with goes against your point. Why is that even a question? It really doesn’t matter what he is or isn’t ok with.
