They're thinking it's an infection and not a kidney stone or anything like that.

Waiting on lab and CT scan results. Hopefully out of here soon. Been here close to 5 hours.

Man I hate to hear that Dave. Kidney stones are usually really obvious. You know when you have one. Your body is going to make damn sure you know you have one. The pain is tremendous. Hopefully it's just a UTI like you're thinking.

The older I get the more weird stuff happens. Sometimes I'll have the urge but then I'm just standing there and nothing comes out. Why are you shy all of the sudden? And then some days it seems like I have a bladder the size of a grape. Has to be emptied over and over and over. Getting old is bizarre.

Yeah, I've heard the horror stories of people passing stones. I want no part of that.

In the hospital about an hour now. Waiting for nurse/doc and see what's up. Been going to bathroom a little less, but when I do...I looks weird. Blood is clumped up like it's trying to clot, but still peeing blood. I don't think it's a blockage, but maybe lining tear somewhere. I just worry the clot keeps breaking up causing more bleeding, idk.

So, basically it's a bladder infection, so not quite a UTI, but close. Gotta drink plenty of fluids and take some antibiotics. Doc said it should clear up in a few days and make an appointment with a specialist just to be sure everything is good.

Never had a bladder infection before. Life happens, yeah.

Better than some of the alternatives. The antibiotics will help pretty quick with the uncomfortable part I would think.

Glad to hear it is nothing more serious and that are you ok! But I know that had to be scary for a bit..

And the quick panicked research one does on the internet (I’ve been there) makes you feel like you’ve got a few hours left on Earth, etc so that’s sometimes not great either.

Yeah, the meds the have for those type of infections I understand are quite effective. I was given some meds at the hospital and it makes a big difference.

Yeah, seeing the blood get worse and worse over a few hours definitely got my attention. Feeling a bit better now. Hopefully I'll fully be back to normal soon.

And I guess as long as we’re comfortable sharing our peepee issues here, it takes me now like 3x as long as the normal person to pee and stream is slow. Which also means post pee drip so now there’s this post drip blotting (couldn’t think of a better word) going on so T Swift “Shake it off” now lives in my head free of charge.

Severe Peripheral neuropathy from nerve damage in my back 15 years ago from my high school football days is what I have to thank for it. Slow destruction of urinary tract & reproductive system function Yay!

And I guess as long as we’re comfortable sharing our peepee issues here, it takes me now like 3x as long as the normal person to pee and stream is slow. Maybe, idk. I think the pain would be worse of its a stone. It could be I'm trying to pass one or a smallish stone nicked a spot somewhere causing the bleeding.

My guess is UTI, but I've had that before a couple of times and never peed blood. So, no telling yet. My main worry was the peeing blood hasn't slowed down. I didn't want to sleep and wake up in a mess.

I gotta be honest, I'm about your age and I'd give a paycheck or two just to be able to pee like I did back in my 20's. Why that has to turn into an issue with age is annoying.
