Mihailovic was the revelation to me today. He looks like a different player - his touch on set pieces and skill distributing the ball looks on a different level. He would have had several more assists with a different supporting cast around him. Ferreira did what he does, but none of it translates to world class opposition. I’m curious now to watch this Gold Cup to see if the quality Mihailovic showed today is consistent through the tournament, because he could be a break through player

The men's team wore the women's team jerseys that Adidas designed specifically for the Mexican women's team for the Women's World Cup. Unfortunately they didn't qualify for it. The statement was that the men wore it as a show of support of the women who yesterday too played their first game in the Central American and Caribbean Games, since failing to qualify for the WWC.

Would’ve liked to see Vazquez get a start over Ferreira but Ferreira does eat up low level comp. Cincy FC blocks a couple options (Everton and gladbach) for Vazquez to move to Europe, can’t get a start in the gold cup. Tough week for him.

They’ll move him in the winter window, but likely won’t get as much and he may not have that Everton option.

Directv decided to begin a contract dispute and shut the match/channel off at around the 10 min mark. Unreal.

3rd hat trick for Ferreira should get him on every WC roster through 2034 and Berhalter will have him listed as a beneficiary on his life insurance policies.

I believe that’s something like 14 goals in 21 intl games for Ferreira. Very odd. He looked like he had no business being anywhere near the field in Qatar. Flip side, the only competitive game was Jamaica and he was ineffective in that one.

This puts him after Sargent in the pecking order. He needs to get on the other side of the pond soon.

Yeah he is a bizarre case. That kind of production is off the charts. But. The level of comp is not really even close to average. Those are some low level intl sides. But. It’s 14 in 21.

We should be through as the group winner unless Jamaica scores 3 in 10 min, meaning it’s sets up a potential US MX final.
