USMNT - ‘23 and beyond (4 Viewers)

So 5 total vs TnT
4 v Grenada and
3 v SKN
14 overall intl goals
It’s almost impossible to draw any conclusion here - I mostly like him , but…,???

I think it also has a bit to do with strategy and what is asked of him.

He seems to be able to float and find space...he isn't the focal point (feeding, asking him to hold up to allow offensive players advance, etc. )

So could it be that he thrives when allowed to play free vs tasked with specific job first, THEN look to goal?

I do notice Callaghan plays more attacking than we did under Gregg (at times we did, for WC it was not really consistent ). Allows the players skill to shine.

Maybe opponents aren't as tough so not asked to do to much, but just from a scoring/confidence level, that goal has to look 20 yards wide for him.

Cowell gets his first and you can already see his strength. Reminds me of Altidore with body size. Very composed on ball too. Couple times he held bit too long in box, but that timing will come.

Vazquez another...touch to just chip keeper. Composure.

Hope those young guys can keep it going cuz I'd love to be having debates over goal scorers coming in for USMNT on hot streaks.

THIS. Berhalter is addicted to a system and doesnt play to player skills and much as Hudson and Callaghan have. I just wonder after seeing someone like Reyna own the central midfield, if Berhalter is going come back and put him back on the bench, or the wing. This team has looked better without Berhalter, because the system isnt as rigid.

What Ive learned this year is, if we are playing on our front foot...I dont know if Weston is in the 11. I like a 4-3-3 with Jedi/Richards/Miles/Dest, Musah/Adams/Reyna, Pulisic/Balo/Weah.

Mostly agree but with platooning the mid based on matchups vs a set squad

Yeah he is a bizarre case. That kind of production is off the charts. But. The level of comp is not really even close to average. Those are some low level intl sides. But. It’s 14 in 21.

We should be through as the group winner unless Jamaica scores 3 in 10 min, meaning it’s sets up a potential US MX final.
In the category of future bizarre trivia..

We’re going to go from 8-10 in the PL to just Tim Ream
And it’s for the best in just about every circumstance

Solid move for Aaronson. A lot of rumors about Jedi and Adams. Both could stay in the PL. Musah could end up with Fulham - but getting minutes with Pulisic at Milan wouldnt hurt. Turner will likely stay with Arsenal as their #2. Pulisic is out, seems dead set on Milan as he rejected Lyon. Richards should stay at Palace. Weston is back with Juve temporarily - if he stays he could be fighting for minutes with Weah which is not ideal for the NT. Balogun is linked to 4-5 different sides. No idea where he ends up.

But all of them are also linked to teams outside the PL as well and youre right, most of those moves outside the PL are better opportunities and most are in CL.

Joins Pefok.

on the bench ;)

lol
no it is a good move, just curious to see where he will fit/get playing time. Union finished 4th in Bundesliga so they have a pretty stout squad.

Some transfer news:

Pulisic to AC Milan

Pepi to PSV

He joins Loftus-Cheek who jumped 3 days ago to AC Milan

Looks like he may slot where Brahim Diaz was ( attacking mid - who went to Real Madrid )

Yep, I saw some reports that the AC Milan coach prefers him there. Probalby a similar situation to the USMNT with Reyna recently in that it allows him to get his best 11 on the field together.

Wouldve liked for him to go somewhere and play on the left, but as long as he is a regular starter, Ill take the minutes.

Everyone else is just a bunch of smoke. I cant see Balo at Chelsea or Weston at BVB. Both of those seem, far fetched. Musah to Fulham would make Fulham the new Leeds with 3 americans, but today its West Ham that seems more interesed - with Milan still in play. Adams looks to be staying at Leeds despite relegation. Dest doesnt seem to be getting a lot of interest, only interest is coming from Besiktas.

Doesnt seem like anyone is imminent after Pulisic to Milan. The wait continues.
