My understanding is that he wasn’t planning on crashing and when he did my brother and 2 other officers were at his truck before he could react. Shooting started and my brother and the 2 other officers killed him while he hit my brother and another officer. I think the crane being there and the reaction of the police stopped him from unloading the assault rifle on civilians and detonating the bombs. This is the story I’m getting.

Thanks to your brother and other officers for what they do. Hope they recover. But for maximum damage, the timing and the devices don't make sense. Maybe he was just f-d in the head. Can't always explain a crazy person's plan in a sensible way.

Your brother and the other officers are heroes. We as a society owe them a debt of gratitude which cannot be repaid. If indeed your brother and the other 2 officers had any debts they are now marked Paid in Full.
