VIDEO: Armstead says "I'm ready" (2 Viewers)

As much as I love to read all of the comments from the guys and watch the videos of the interviews... It irks me how the media asks the same questions over and again. Am I the only one? I dont think I could handle that part of being an athlete. Of course im not much of a people person anymore either! Having said that... WHO DAT!

Armstead seem confident and excited in his interview. He looks hungry and ready to start playing. We may be pleasantly surprised. He has all tools to succeed, athletic ability, agility, speed and power. He's been learning since he got here and I trust Coach Payton knows what he's doing, he wouldn't have pull Brown if he didn't think Armstead wasn't ready.

Brown must have been acting butt-hurt or pouty after getting benched in St. Louis. Payton probably waited to see how he reacted in practice after the dust settled, and hopes that the fire would be lit. Brown most likely let him down and was sulking, so the switch to a small school, raw as all get-out rookie gets the nod.

Even if Armstead holds his own, it's not going to help the defense's road woes in stopping the run and getting pressure on the QB.

Quoting myself from another thread on same topic.

This benching may be just what Charles needs for him to wake up and man up. He may get another shot to play on right side, Streif ain't getting any younger. I 've seen him play on the right side and he plays much better there IMHO.

With his ability to move it will give him a bit of leeway to be a tad slow mentally in his first start. Tremendous feet and throwing shot means he should have a powerful core to move. As long as he knows the scheme and his responsibilities he will be fine. The way the Saints use their tackles to move pass rushers to form a pocket won't be a problem for him either as opposed to manning up and trying to battle them at the point of attack. He should do fine

I got a feeling that Armstead is going to be a beast.

Coach knows what he is doing. Look at his track record of selecting and developing quality O-linemen - Evans, Nicks, Strief, Bushrod.

Armstead's physical abilities are superior to most O-lineman. His speed and strength are off the chart. Physically, he is there. Coach thinks he is ready, and I trust Coach.

Agreed. I just can't see CSP putting in a guy who he knows is a significant downgrade from your previous starter. Even if your starter is struggling, if the next guy is a significant downgrade, you absolutely can't make that switch, for the sake of your franchise QB! If he's going to make the move, he has to believe that Armstead is ready.

Now I'm worried.

In the video, he says "Charles is a good player. Really really good player. He's been teaching me......"

I've always believed that a student is only as smart as his teacher....

:idunno:

And yet, they also say "those who can't do, teach". Finally, "whose who can't do or teach, legislate those who do or teach".

Greg Hardy, he being from the mouthiest of all teams that have never won anything said he will will come out and dominate on Sunday like he all ways does and the Saints should be ready for a battle. I hate a mouthy team like they are.

Y! SPORTS

Armstead graduated from Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Willie Roaf was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Played HS there.

Maybe thats a sign? :hihi:

Roaf said he texted terron, said he's excited and nervous (expected) said he has the attributes to be a good left tackle, long arms, athletic etc. hopefully your theory rings true

I want to see this dude use that athleticism and blast some people on screen passes
