VIDEO: Armstead says "I'm ready" (1 Viewer)

True, but how do you explain why Brown hasn't panned out so far?

USC.

Overhyped program, plays a weak schedule and outside of Reggie(though some would argue which was a hot topic when he was a Saint) have not been great for us where they were selected. I mean, Sedrick Ellis for an example. Kind of amazing what happens the year he doesn't get brought back and we have one of the better D.lines in the league.

He's a TE who converted to OT. He is really bothered by contact. As soon as he comes in contact with another player his legs stop moving, very bad for offensive linemen.

Now I'm worried.

In the video, he says "Charles is a good player. Really really good player. He's been teaching me......"

I've always believed that a student is only as smart as his teacher....

Hmmm. not sure about that last part.

At any rate, it is better Armstead saying that he's ready as opposed to "I'm soiling my pants at the thought."

I got a feeling that Armstead is going to be a beast.

Coach knows what he is doing. Look at his track record of selecting and developing quality O-linemen - Evans, Nicks, Strief, Bushrod.

Armstead's physical abilities are superior to most O-lineman. His speed and strength are off the chart. Physically, he is there. Coach thinks he is ready, and I trust Coach.

I can guarantee you ONE thing. He CANT do any WORSE than C. Brown. So we take it as that and move forward. I believe he'll be what we need here. While some might think he's a beast/ I'll give him that terminology around week 10 of next yr. Nothing before that. No use putting a label on someone until you see them in action. I think he'll have a few hiccups this game, However I'm sure he'll hold his own and do quite well against the Panties. Lets hope he can give Brees a little breathing room.

He's being polite.. I remember talking to him at training camp and he seems like one of the most genuine quality guys, exactly what the Saints want around for a long time. Gimme a break......

Exactly my response.

Man! he is getting bombarded by the media.

And holding his own like a seasoned pro. I'm very impressed with what I've seen of him, and hope that he is the long term answer at left tackle.

What I would give to have one of the Kalil brothers on this o-line (both USC products).

He has the athletic ability to be off the charts. I gotta think that his track and field experience has burned in the importance of technique. He should be used to practicing technique over and over and get it burned in to his play. He was a shotputter so he knows how to bend and turn and move.
Has he learned the zone blocking scheme? You have to think the answer is yes. From his highlights he looks like he is really good at keeping rushers to the outside. He looks to have a really fast step slide to keep rushers in their place. Saints haven't been doing many running plays to the left. So he may be an asset there. I have high hopes for the kid. Wish he had seen some real playing time but they needed a change. Drew has been sacked 30 times and hit another 67 times. Is it all on CB no. This O-line will be blocking for its life. Nobody is safe. They will be fighting for their NFL lives.

Armstead doesn't know if he's ready or not. Dude hasn't played a single offensive snap in the NFL.

Hopefully, we don't hear his name at all on Sunday. The less we hear his name the better off we'll be.
