Wayne Gandy's recliner meets Sean Payton (1 Viewer)

Yet again proves what a undisciplined coach Haslett was. Yeah, I know he used to fine people, but letting a player have a lazyboy in the locker room is mentally challenged.

We lost a coach who makes headlines with his coaching. He’s already made plenty headlines with Denver.

Payton would have cut Ingram earlier this year for his fumbles and running out of bounds. He holds the team accountable and I’m worried that’s where the saints will struggle. Although, DA did ship off CGJ

I think more accurately, he would have benched him for the fumbles, Ingram would receive the message, and not run out of bounds later.

Its not about punishing the mental mistakes, its about preventing them. This year there were all kinds of mistakes from players that we weren't used to seeing them from. From the RBs to the o-line all the way to the kicker and punter.

At the very least he would have been benched and the next week we would have brought in every FA RB for workouts. I was down on Allen during the year for showing a lack of leadership, especially his handling of Winston. That one really p?$$ed me off if he was benching him for poor play say that. I felt like he just used his health as an off ramp to bench a guy but sacking a guy for an injury looked even worse in my eyes (not that my opinion matters). It was almost a coward’s way out. That aside since the season ended I have come to the realization that no two coaches are the same. Not every coach puts cheese in his players lockers after a few easy wins or mirrors in them after a few losses. Not every coach publicly shames players for fumbling with a benching. Allen is his own guy with his own style. He may very well told Winston behind closed doors what was happening but for the public we got he was hurt and prehaps he did this to allow Winston to save face.

I do think what Payton did was what makes him a great coach and a better leader because he is open and direct and will publicly hold a player accountable. That doesn’t mean what Allen does is wrong it’s just what his style is. I think it’s wormy and cowardess but I know I am not inside the locker room so it’s unfair to really judge what he does and how he does it. If he wins it’s fine if he looses he goes away.

That’s my toughts for the day now back to Mardi Gras.
