There's gotta be another abbreviation to use for him. Like MTip, MT84, or something like that.
I can't be the only seeing that and thinking Michael Thomas right away.

He can line up anywhere on the route tree.
I saw it from day 1 he was gonna be kept
He talking more about made plays during training camp, but he didn't play any games to see if he could do it in a game. He got hurt and missed most of the last 2 weeks of camp. We all heard of the camp WR Butler namely that lit up training camp but it didn't translate to games plus he didn't play ST. They were working Tipton as a returner during camp. Not really unprecedented, he's shown a clear ability as has Holker and Payton and they're USDA who made the 53.
Tipton looks likes a speedy Lance Moore and I can see him making his mark lining up in the slot.

I think Krull is out for the season with an injury. He couldn't catch a cold with us. I'm not so sure the Saints would've signed him to the PS.It means they like him. Remember that TE, Lucas Krull? when they tried sneaking him on the practice squad. Poached by Payton, where is Krull now, Denver.
How about calling him the "Brick" as in Brick Mason.
Oh wait, I guess we can't use that one either.
he started back practicing last week.Don't forget that Tipton was injured in camp, which limits the team's options for cutting him. I would not be shocked if Tipton is put on IR soon or waived after week one.
The team cannot put non-vested players on IR untilthis afternooncut down day. If we wanted to cut him, we would have had to waive him with an injury designation if he is on our injury list. He would end up on IR only if he passed through waivers.I believe this afternoon we can move him direct to IR if we choose to do it.
The other option, if we think he can contribute this year, is to waive him after week one. We could then sign him to the PS when he clears waivers (which he will most likely do), and we can sign a veteran replacement without guaranteeing their salary.
I doubt he stays on the 53 with only two weeks of camp practice.
Edited the above, we actually could have put him on IR starting yesterday. Still, it will be cheaper for the team if we can waive him after a minor injury and put him on the PS rather than put him on IR.
To be fair, what did Bub Means really show in practice or preseason? I think Tipton making the team is as much a function of his talent as it is the fact that no other WR really stepped up.I doubt he stays on the 53 with only two weeks of camp practice.
