For two weeks, Tipton looked like Steve Smith out there. Not saying, just saying. He is someone you keep and try to develop. It was a smart decision.

I think the injury designation could have been a team strategy to get him to the practice squad unnoticed by not allowing other teams to see game film of him.He talking more about made plays during training camp, but he didn't play any games to see if he could do it in a game. He got hurt and missed most of the last 2 weeks of camp. We all heard of the camp WR Butler namely that lit up training camp but it didn't translate to games plus he didn't play ST. They were working Tipton as a returner during camp.
Great hands, runs routes, and has 4.3 speed. I'm good with that.Kinda flying under the radar but the fact that Mason Tipton made the 53 roster is crazy. And maybe unprecedented. Im sure most of you know the story but when you take a step back its unheard of.
Tipton was an UDFA from Yale. Nobody knew who he was headed into camp. DA even admitted he didnt know who Tipton was heading into camp.
We've all seen the tweets and the videos of him cooking Alontae and making these huge catches but how good was he?
Saints training camp opened July 24th.
Tipton hurt his hamstring August 7th.
That's 14 days. TWO WEEKS.
Mason Tipton went from a small school UDFA to securing a spot on the active roster in just two weeks.
But hold on a moment. Why not try and sneak him onto the practice squad? Remember since we didn't face the 9ers and he didn't play on the preseason, nobody has film on him.
But nope, DA and the FO chose not to risk it. Pretty unprecedented. They must love him.
Who?We don't talk about Tipton
BM it is.
BTW, what so wrong with just calling him Tipton or Mason Tipton? Nicknames should be organic not just an excuse to not type a guy's name.
I think "Tip" has a nice ring to it
Well !!!!Tipton is gonna ball out!
He will end up the number 3 WR on the team this season.
Well !!!!
.. so this guy (an udfa) with a banged up hammy is gonna push ATP out of the way for the 3 ??.. c'mon now.. smh.. gotta keep the realism.. not gonna happen..
NW.

Honing in on his college tape. Pro day measurables shows high end acceleration and speed. Doesnt show up on his collegw tape alot. Good to know the speed is there though apparently been showing up in camp. Linear athlete didnt look real fluid. Thing that sticks out the must is his hands. Hes got late hands and hes got some sticky hands. Also pretty physical for a guy his size. Alot of room there to grow for route running development. Hes pretty pedestrian as a yac guy. Not alot of instincts with ball in his hands. If he can learn to play to his testing speed, even as a linear athlete. His toughness and hand talent you may have something.Kinda flying under the radar but the fact that Mason Tipton made the 53 roster is crazy. And maybe unprecedented. Speedy Lance Moore is a really good player.Speedy Lance Moore
Nope. It would be the same as using DB for some current player. There’s rules to this. The ex may be gone, but the impact from the good times, will last a lifetime. Plus, in order to get an abbreviation, you must earn it. Tipton hasn’t done anything to get an abbreviation, more or less the MT one.The ex is gone, dude. Ain't coming back. It's time to let the old MT go. Which is sad.
I still don’t see why Cedrick is the defacto #3 WR. AT had better production than him last year, in way less games, in a more inefficient offense. Plus, he’s way younger. I’m in the camp, that Cedrick made this team, based on veteran leadership, and not his play.Perry is likely already the #4 WR behind Olave, Shaheed, and Cedrick Wilson. And might be #5 behind Means. There is a reason he got all those snaps in the 3rd preseason game. He was fighting for a roster spot along with St. Brown who also got a lot of snaps.
