We need to talk about Tipton (1 Viewer)

What do you mean? Both our top WRs Olave and Rasheed are liabilities in the run game. This offense is driven by our run first approach.

Cedrick will get more snaps than AT just based off his ability to block alone.

This offense is primarily ran off 12 base personnel. Which means only two recievers will be on the field for the majority of snaps. Cedrick being the 3rd reciever leaves only a small percentage of snaps we will even have 4 reciever sets.

I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think AT is gonna be a major factor in the offense this year. Unless injuries force him to play obviously.
Injuries are part of the game. Shaheed was already injured before the season started. So let me guess, “if” an injury happens to one of our top 2 WRs. Then we trot out 1 viable option and a Blockzilla? May God have mercy on our souls and the unborn. Dude couldn’t even beat out Trent Sherfield one year in Miami and we are boasting this dude. This is the difference between teams that have Super Bowl aspirations and a team that will have to claw their way to a division title in the weak NFC South.

AT needs to beat out Bub and Tipton as well, not just Cedrick.

I'm not sure if you're reading between the lines but AT did not impress the FO this offseason. Between drops and struggling with the playbook he's far from being solidified as our WR4.

He was far from a lock to make this roster. And he's far from a lock to see serious playing time.

In addition to Wilson, I believe Tipton to be ahead of Perry in the Depth Chart/Snap Count.

I don't think this is really about Perry to him. He is a Wilson hater (or doubter, or whatever) He's been so negative he's vesting in Wilson's failure.

Excited about Tipton, but here are a few undrafted small school players with better resumes...

  • Drew Pearson - Tulsa
  • Larry Little - Bethume Cookman
  • James Harrison - Kent State
  • Antonio Gates - Kent State
  • Rod Smith - MO Southern State
  • John Randle - Texas A&M Kingsville
  • Cliff Harris - Ouchita Baptist
  • Joe "the Jet" Perry - Compton Community College (CALI) - although he did play at the Naval Air Station in Alameda (where they keep the nuclear vessels)
  • Night Train Lane - Scottsbluff Community College (NE)

Not a hater. I don’t boast players that couldn’t beat out Trent Sherfield. I have standards. Do you know who Trent Sherfield is? Nope, didn’t think so.

Using your "standards" logic why are you boasting about AT who was unable to beat out Cedrick who was unable to beat our Trent Sherfield?

Wouldn't that make AT look even worse?

I thought you watched ball, not just looked at stats. My bad.

You have to be referring to 2022 in Miami. That's the only time they ever played together. Wilson got broken ribs against the Ravens in Week 2. He didn't play again until week 8 or 9, and he still wasn't himself yet, and about the time he got back on the field he pulled a groin.

If Trent Sherfield "outplayed" Wilson for the WR3 spot, Miami would have re-signed him and not let him walk to make less than $2 M a year in Buffalo.

Sherfield was Wilson's backup, Wilson was injured most of that year.

Wilson isn't a "Blockzilla". He's a solid veteran WR who also happens to be a good blocker. Perry, Tipton, and Means may all have more natural talent than him but they are young and need more time to develop. Hopefully one of them will develop to be a better WR than Wilson this year, but until they do, Wilson is likely to get most of the #3 WR snaps.

Bc AT is a 2nd year guy who can improve. Cedrick is going on his 6th year (3rd team) and is going downhill. It’s simple actually

I do watch a good number of Dolphins games. Wilson had a good number of snaps on passing plays. Didn’t do anything but get cardio in. So if Cedrick is so good, why did Miami want to trade him after 1 year, then rework his contract to let him stay aboard, while giving him an out, after year 2? It wouldn’t have cost much to keep him on. Thats bc for all of his Blockzilling-ness, he didn’t move the needle for them. Dolphins fans will tell yall Cedrick is not it. He is a bargain bin signing and nothing more at this stage of his career. False hopes and promises, but hey, at least he’s a cheap date.

in case you still haven't been keeping up, They signed Wilson to be the number 2 guy, then later traded for Tyrik Hill. They dont use a WR3 much.

No one thinks Wilson is a world beater, we just think he's a proven vet with a great catch radius, good teammate, and solid blocker.

I'm glad for him to get passed on the depth chart by the likes of a Tipton, but just bagging on the dude, and declaring Perry, who struggled to keep a roster spot, to be WR3 over him just cause you don't like the dude is low key weird.

You seem like Infoman about Winston.
