Week 14 Betting Thread (6 Viewers)

Took a couple of weeks off. Too busy with other stuff.

Need to get my record updated but I'll be back this week.

I was just thinking this. I have a meeting at 10 am, but once I am finished I will go back and start updating records. I just have not felt like doing it because I know it's like 3 weeks to catch up on, haha.

Went ahead and added a teaser for tonight before sharps move the line.

Cleveland +9.5/under 42.5

CBB

FAU -135 💰

Parlay:
Fau ML -140 and South Florida ML -300 +129 💰

What are teasers and how do they work? I keep seeing you posting them, and I’m trying to make sense of them.

A typical teaser is instead of winning one bet, you have to win 2. However, lets say you want to bet the Saints game and Saints are favored by 8 and the o/u is 50, you get 6 “free points”.

So I think the Saints are gonna win and it’s gonna be a low scoring game, but I want to be safe. So I can now bet Saints -2 and the o/u 56. Good thing is that you get 6 points but now you have to win both sides to win one bet.

Yup, and they are there for a reason. Like parlays, they’re there to take your money long term which they will. Vegas doesn’t hand out player advantages or free money.

However, once in a blue moon you can find a game that makes sense to tease. You'll also find that the teasers you win, “most” of the time you didn’t need the teaser you only lowered the amount you could have won.

But if you’re playing smaller amounts of money and just for fun, then it’s whatever makes you happy and that you enjoy.

Only time i use it is for NFL and open teasers. Only for home teams and when line from like -7 to -8/-8.5

I use to love open teasers back in the day and open parlays.

Haven’t seen those since I joined Bovada a couple years back

1-4 ugly start to the week.

4-0 over the last two days. Let’s hope it continues

Browns +4💰

Browns 1H over 7.5 +115 (just a gut play) 💰

NC State +9💰

PF anytime TD +500 Live💩

On the Browns, it’s no secret that Tomlin’s teams have been below average at covering games when favored by 3.5 or more. They’ve covered over his career at 3.5 or more favorites only around 44% of the time and on the road the home team getting 3.5 or more against the Steelers during Tomlin’s tenure is covering at 60%.

NC State is bad. When they lost their QB they went to 💩. However, this freshman QB is starting to get better. IF NC State can run the ball, they’ll have a shot at the upset in a big time trap game. If they can’t, they may get blown out. GT has only covered this number in conference play once. Hopefully NC State shows up

I use 8 different books, so some of them have it. But only one is -110 juice

You get to move the line in your favor on multiple bets. You can do it on the same game or multiple games. It’s like a parlay but with a reduced payout since you are moving the line. On bovada they are 6 points for football. I think in a live sports book you can move them less, like 3 points. If you bet enough games on Bovada on same ticket they will give you 7 points in your favor.

It’s easier than it sounds. Like tonight for instance. Don’t remember the exact numbers but I think the line was Steelers -3.5 and over under was 36.5. Both at -110. I bet on Cleveland and the under. If you do a teaser you get an extra 6 points on each one. So instead of Browns +3.5 I get 9.5. Instead of under 36.5 I get 42.5.

It’s considered by some to be a sucker bet but can be good if say you get a couple lines around 4.5 or so. You can move them to 10.5 which for a normal football score can be huge. The payout is -120 on a 2 team teaser of 6 points.
