" We've got some work to do , to improve that room " Mickey Loomis on our WRs (2 Viewers)

“We’re expecting to have Mike back,” Loomis said, via the team’s website. “His progress hopefully is going well, and the reports are that it’s been going well. I know he is certainly motivated; Michael is always motivated, so that’s not an issue. But Tre’Quan [Smith] is a free agent, and Deonte Harris is an RFA, so we’ve got some work to do to complete that room.”https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...as-back-but-have-some-work-to-do-at-receiver/
Even if TQS and Deonte weren't free agents, the team would still have some work to do to complete the WR room. No Saints fan needs to be told it was the weakest position group on the team last season. Of course, it all depends on whether we resign Armstead and Marcus as to what our draft options will be, but we should draft at least 2 WRs high, probably somewhere in Rounds 1-3.

I say sign him to a cheap contract/keep him around until the team knows they have someone better than him there. That said, you'd be hard pressed to find any #4 guy that's better than TQS unless you're looking at the Bills or Chiefs.
Why? It isn't like he's going anywhere...don't even waste the space right now, if we get to the end of camp and we still don't like what we have then we can bring him back...he'll be available.

Not years fro0m now. It will be next year. The kicking the can is starting to bight him in the butt.
Kicking the can down the road is not the problem that's biting ML in the butt. It all started with Covid and having to cut the salary cap. If not for that we'd be well under the cap and have the money to spend on anyone we wanted because the cap would have kept going up.

I wouldn't mind David Bell wr out of Purdue.
Sure, his 40 time was a little lackluster but he's got great hands, runs great routes, and has a savvy way about him.
If he somehow fell to one of our third rounders I'd pull the trigger

I think Bell is a steal if he’s there in the 3rd. 2nd round talent imo.

I prefer him over any reciever ive seen this year. He gets himself open and has great hands. Seems to have a high football IQ.

Hes like M.T everone knows the football is going his way, even grandma. But no one can stop him.

Yeah those OHIO ST Recievers are great talents. But they help each other out because defenses cant key on them and they have supposedly elite qb throwing them tge ball.

Bell doesn't have those luxuries. He plays for a small school that is outmanned in ln pretty much every conference game

We simply have to sign one of the slot receivers available.
Draft WR to play outside in the draft

Smith and Callaway or not bad as your WR 4 and 5 .

We need to go WR in Round 1 someone with Speed and hands!
Also wouldn’t hurt to sign a cheap Vet to come in and compete

So far he has done zero. Haven’t seen anything this bad since before hasslet. At least mueller got Joe Horn and Willie jackson and all.

Mueller was pretty active in FA every year during Haslett era. His drafts after the 2nd round were below average every year though so he had to always sign over a handful of starters in FA.

We always got nearly 30+ year old WRs in their last years who played just 2-3 years with us under Mueller. Thats exactly what the current available FA WRs are.

1st pick is probably gonna be the attempt to replace Armstead unfortunately. I'd be shocked if WR is the pick at 18 at this point.
