My wife and I set up the outdoor Christmas decorations together. Takes us about 2.5 hours to do it together. Yet each year I have to UNdecorate the outside by myself. I really hate it. Getting things back in their original boxes is often challenging. I could spend 10 minutes listing all the tasks I'll do this afternoon but that would just delay me from going out there and getting started.
So......that's my "I hate this! task" that I have to do once a year.
What about any of you?
I'll check in later and see what annual tasks all of you hate.

How was it decided that undecorating was your solo task?

To her that is the man's job. The man across the street decorates AND undecorates by himself...so I am considered more fortunate than him.
You know, the only reason the wife helps decorate is because she wants to make sure it’s done the way she wants. Undecorating, or clean up, can be handled without supervision.

We’re in the middle of it right now - I’m taking a break. Outside is all me which is fine - it takes me about 2 hours to decorate the exterior of the house by myself. A few of my neighbors and I chip in a few bucks to rent a boom lift for a day and we each take turns on the high parts of our homes. Then everything else is pretty simple. Taking everything down outside is even simpler.

Inside - well, it’s beautiful. My wife decorates for a couple of days while I’m at work and then we do the tree together. While it looks amazing, much of it is delicate glass and stuff and it seemingly takes forever to repackage and then store all this stuff properly. I hate it and we’re thankfully wrapping it up now.

When we lived in Louisiana, our home was 50% brick and 40% vinyl siding, and 10% stucco. I hated the 40% because it required pressure-washing and of course, the siding sat at the highest parts of the house. I hated it - when we were house-searching here in Ohio, my dealbreaker was all brick. I didn’t want to see an ounce of vinyl siding anywhere and while it took 6 months to find an all brick house, I am happier for it.

Last thing - while not annual, interior wall painting of any kind, small or large job, anytime of the year at any period of my life. HATE IT.

Since I'm doing it right now.....painting. I painted every room of our old house over the summer so we could sell it. Now I'm painting the rooms of our new house. I hate painting. Unfortunately I'm pretty good at it and my wife is horrible at it so it falls on me to get it done.

Easily the most suburban thing I’ve read on this board
A board that features Kenna brahs and Northshore skippers waxing nostalgic about their interstate enabled townships

(It actually sounds very neighborly)
