Wheel of Time - Cast Predictions/Wishlist (6 Viewers)

Yeah, seems that way. Mostly my reaction (especially in the past two episodes)

"that didn't happen"
"that didn't happen"
"that didn't happen"
"that CERTAINLY didn't happen"
"she didn't do that in the books"
"that wasn't possible until about 6 books into the series"
"he didn't gain those powers until much later in the books, and in a different way"
"how are they going to resolve some things that happened later in the books since they decided to go in this direction instead?"

Also

Nynaeve being able to track Lan after they had gone through Shadar Logoth is dumb. If she HAD tracked them there, she would have followed them inside, and (probably) would have died. Instead she somehow tracked them all the way there, saw them enter and decided to stay outside. But then somehow saw them escape, from some random place? And then knew which group to follow? There are probably other things I could complain about, but for some reason this keeps annoying me.

Speaking of annoyances: I can't get over the statements of "the dragon reborn might be a HE or SHE" um...no. That goes against everything established in the books, only a man could be reborn. Only the male side is tainted.

Or the melodramatic acting from some of the characters is still awful. The script/lines are so cringe at times. I can't tell if they are bad at acting, or the script makes them bad. Often it seems to be trying too hard to evoke some kind of emotion, but it all comes off as being hollow and fake. Chatty/friendly Lan is nothing like the books. I just can't get over how terrible that direction was to take with his character. Or his over the top cry/wail at the death of some guy who they were trying hard to make into a best buddy of Lan's or whatever.

That dramatic death/suicide was not moving me at all.

The guy that was a viking warrior in a previous series, but here he looks so dorky

Loail costume is terrible. At least he speaks in similar way to the how he is portrayed in the book.
But it is shocking just how bad he looks, because each episode is 10+ million... and THIS is the best they could come up with?

Maybe they spent most of the $$ on set design, which is good.
The end of the last episode has me puzzled. The Ways don't require channeling, it's how Padan Fain uses them later on. Since Padan has to use them for a whole host of plot-related reasons, how are they going to reconcile the hole they created? Why create it in the first place?

I feel like you're getting too caught up in detail. They can just easily make up something.

Yeah, that's a strange addition. I believe it also explained how the trollocs moved around so much, and I don't think they can channel either. I guess they're just really cashing in on that channeling effect

Well they can just say a Fade opened the Ways because they already said they don't know how the trollocs got to two rivers undetected.

im still about a quarter of the way into Shadow Rising, I've ready read New Dawn, I don't remember Moiraine and Siuan ever being "girlfriends". Was that part of the books? I think they had a "special" name for their type of friendship in New Dawn, but I never took that as meaning they were in a relationship.

“Pillow friends”

I’m not kidding.

The Aiel are the deadliest fighters in the world... but watching a pregnant lady in labor whooping the best swordsmen all at the same time was pretty awesome to see.

It's kind of what happens any time you search "sword vs spear" on YouTube.
And yet the love affair Western literature has for the longsword persists.

It seems alot of the edits are starting to take shape and aren't as bad as they seemed at first. Other than the man/woman dragon thing. That's just silly.

I think they wanted to throw off the viewers by making Nynaeve super powerful. There has to be a "surprise" these days.

but Nynaeve is legit the stongest female channeler.
