They were thinking we really need to help protect our QB. Wasn’t that the year DB got hurt?

Brees would last forever. LolOur refusal to draft a QB high for four straight years of needing a QB is a major failure. No excuse.
Please. Different decades but decent question. Mine tooLet’s deep dive since we playing second guessing how about when the Saints passed on Joe Montana 3 times
And didn’t they pass on Eddie George for Molden as a favor to Mora Jr or is that urban legend
I’ll fix the sentence for ya — “…drafted Cesar Ruiz over Jordan Jefferson.”That as it turns out was a very bad daft for us.
That is exactly what I meant to say. Thank you.You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
It didn’t have to be Hurts, but not taking a 1-2 round QB in the last four to five years is inexcusable.
I’ll bite. Hurts was drafted by Philly and sat behind Carson Wentz. Had we drafted Hurts, he would’ve sat behind Drew. Who would you rather your rookie QB learn from? Plus, IF we drafted Hurts, and he progressed, then maybe SP never leaves?!?! I’ll admit, that with the run heavy style of play SP veered towards, Hurts would’ve been the perfect QB for his style of offense. What makes you think Hurts would be the player he is now if he was playing under the Saints coaching staff?
Was there an option of drafting a future HC and OC in that draft?
Almost anything is possible. Brees and Hurts are (were) completely different QBs and the system Sean ran was specifically for Brees.I’ll bite. Hurts was drafted by Philly and sat behind Carson Wentz. But SP had a system for Taysom. You don’t think SP could’ve created a system for Jalen? It would’ve been one of the easiest things for SP to do.Almost anything is possible. Brees and Hurts are (were) completely different QBs and the system Sean ran was specifically for Brees.
But why not just draft a guard? The player would already be familiar with the position, and guards are paid less than centers in the NFL. Someone playing well at center would likely not want to move to guard for that reason alone.Don’t you think the plan all along was to use one of them at Guard?
Addressed it twice already. But why not just draft a guard? The player would already be familiar with the position, and guards are paid less than centers in the NFL. Someone playing well at center would likely not want to move to guard for that reason alone.
D'Andre Swift would have helped out a lot, especially with what is happening now. LolWe could’ve used help in a handful of positions. Look at the talent in that 2nd rd. Yet we chose a guy who got Drew killed. So many of these dudes were NFL ready. You didn’t need to meet with them in person and have workouts with them. Their game film was good enough. Especially if that is all the teams had to go by
A better example would be Deuce McCallister when we had R. Williams on the roster. Deuce dropped too far down to pass up and was arguably best available. In all fairness, neither were 1st rounders.
