Four Roses Single Barrel is my "everyday" bourbon. Good price for a great bourbon.
It's too sweet for my tastes but it's a nice value.

I've been into New Riff lately. It's a really cool operation with delicious whiskey. I had the opportunity to taste some of their bottlings that are coming of age yesterday. It's impressive and I think their distillate will take to long aging without the oak becoming overbearing. Their water source makes the base bottled in bond a compelling whiskey at a great price.

I like sweet and I also like the high rye, but I can see how some might find it too sweet.

I'll have to keep an eye out for New Riff. Hopefully it doesn't end up with too much oak. I'm not a fan of really oaky whiskey. I thought I had a gem in Henry McKenna Bottled in Bond a few years ago when I got it for $20 a bottle at Dorignac's but I understand that the price has more than tripled now and it's impossible to get since they discontinued the line.

That's like the equivalent of most peoples' paycheck right there in that photo. Well done!

My only advice is to invest in Scotch now - prices will rise 34% shortly.
The time to buy is almost over. I started stocking up in November.
