NFL Draft Who’s on your “Do not draft “ at 9?

more like we need a list of who we would even want lol. i can’t name one guy id be excited about at 9

after ward, carter, hunter get drafted there are flaws in everyone else.

lol just stop it man. Bad tape? Not a 1st rounder. Played 2,553 snaps in 3 years allowing only 5 sacks – 3 as a true freshman in 2022 and 2 in 2024 going against top talent in the toughest conference in college football. It’s one thing to not think he fits for whatever reason or may not be your favorite but bad tape and not a first round talent when every NFL scout and non scout has him rated a first rounder and top ten pick basically is silly.
His tape is actually pretty poor. Especially for a top 10 pick (which is the import part of the evaluation).

Attached is the pressure rate allowed for all eligible OTs this draft. Notice Campbell is significantly behind the other 1st round tackles.

Consensus 1st round OTs
Simmons - 0.013 (small sample size)
Membou - 0.0183
Josh Conley Jr - 0.0248
Kevin Banks Jr - 0.0272
Will Campbell - 0.0443

That's more than twice as often as some of his peers. Which is quite awful for a top 10 selection.

Add in his historically bad wingspan (not just arm length) and there are some huge red flags picking him inside the top 10.

I’m also against any Oline player bc I think we have used way too many premium picks on the Oline, but I only disagree with what you said about Will. He was pretty darn great at LSU

Meh. When Will Campbell eventually gets drafted in round 1 he should send out to 2 checks: one to his agent and one to Jayden Daniels.

To me, it’s easily Shemar Turner. I do like him, but absolutely hate the thought of taking him 9th overall. That dude is a DT who happens to have elite EDGE measurables. Turner’s biggest issue is that he’s not, & has never been a finisher. He’s like s super athletic Tanoh Kpassagnon. Im really surprised that they have Turner over Scourton, who’s the better football player by far in my opinion. If we dropped down into the 20s, or better yet, got him in RD2 that would be all good.

I've seen these for Olineman and Dlineman. I absolutely love these. My only problem is there should be a 3rd column displaying average opponent strength. Example here would be Will Campbell. He's yellow. But Logan Brown who played for KU is light green indicating better. Yet Campbell was matching up against the best of the best that college has to offer while Brown was matching up against worst of the average. Switch teams and Campbell is likely blue and Brown is likely orange or red.

Curious, where do you get these?

Flaw in Jeanty and Warren is positional value. Maybe say the same with Booker? Emmanwori?

If we stay at 9, I think we have to throw all that out and just draft a player that improves our team.

I'm not sure I want Hunter. I don't think I'm ready for the people screaming "Why not play him at CB" if we put him at WR, or the people screaming "Put him at WR" if we have him at CB. Or the egg heads saying "he can play both full time!" right after he sheds a cane from an injury for playing both.

To be fair, there are flaws in Ward, Carter, and Hunter too. There is no perfect prospect. Ward has question marks regarding whether he can play in structure or under center. Hunter has question marks regarding whether he should play CB or WR and whether he's a true impact player at either of those positions. And Carter has injury concerns.

Just no "project players" please.

Get a guy we've all seen ball out on Saturdays. Don't complicate this.

Every draft pick is a project player. Even guys that produce on Saturdays go bust. Look no further than Foskey for that.

It's why the draft is such a crap shoot and even the best are probably only right about 50% of the time.

This is how i see it. How many NFL caliber edge rushers did these guys face?. The dropoff is huge in edge rush talent from certain conferences.

You'll see OL scouting reports on some players and it'll mention how he did against one SEC school his team played against. And even if he held his on in that game, how would he have held up week after week facing that level of competition?

Tough to judge. To me Campbell's biggest plus is his endurance and health through a long and productive college career. I think he'll be a good pro, but maybe as a guard.

well ya that’s def true but i’d be excited about any of them. well i don’t want grade 2 3 firsts for Cam. i won’t be excited for anyone at 9.

Ya I definitely do not want as a tackle. We'd be better off going someone like Banks and sliding Penning inside.

The most exciting options would be Tet, Warren, or Jeanty. But Jeanty probably won't be there and the other two might not. We could be left with some very unsexy options at #9, but sometimes that works out the best.
