Who’s the Saints interim HC if/when a firing occurs? (2 Viewers)

If they don't pull the trigger during the mini-bye. There is probably no point in pulling it in week 12 with a probably 4-8 record.

That's a good point. I forgot about the mini-bye week with the Thursday game. That would be a good opportunity to pull the trigger. But even week 12 makes sense because you give yourself a head start on looking for a new coach and figuring out what is wrong with your personnel as opposed to just a coaching problem.

All jokes aside…. I think what I thought a few seasons ago…. Bring in Gruden to be the HC and I don’t care what the league or social media thinks about it.

He’s the closest thing out there to Andy Reid. He can turn this around. I’d throw the blank check at him ASAP

Gruden as HC with KK as OC with some mixing of schemes and competent game management… and a roster reset of a youth movement might do the trick
Let’s be honest. Everyone who follows football knows that the team takes on the head coaches personality. It’s not a coincidence that the elite coaches are valued because they are consistent. It doesn’t matter what city they are in. And At some point it doesn’t matter who’s playing under them, look at Tomlin, he’s never had a losing season. I can go on and on. Of course this isn’t an exact science because players to a degree do matter. But if we were to go in a new direction, hire someone with passion , that will inspire passion and hard work. Harbough is taken, but he’s passionate and inspires passion and hard work, and accountability. And all of his teams reflect his personality. Find someone that does the same. Someone like Gruden, but he may have other issues and might not be available. But if not him, someone similar. Someone the fans will accept as a leader. When Sean was here, we never questioned EVERY one of his moves. We were like, well if Sean didn’t want the guy, then so be it. The last thing we need is another coach that is a lateral or less move.

I'm not sure I like the idea, but I would bet that Aaron Glenn would get another interview and he may be ready to be HC. I'd rather Ben Johnson, but I'm not sure what kept him in Detroit this year.
Winning, kept him in Detroit.

This is a job that is known to be bad bc of the dysfunctional and non traditional ownership peer structure.

Any real Head Coach that people want will want to bring his own people , draft his own guys , have a strong word or the last word on personnel.

Our front office leadership considers themselves to be equal partners in the SP/Drew Brees run. They also feel like the HC got too much credit and they deserve credit so they aren’t giving up any power or control.

Unless it’s a new GM hiring a new Coach here - this is a very undesirable job I’d guess.

DA isn’t getting fired mid season unless there is a bigger move in the works and I just don’t see it.

I know he said that, but what has to happen in Detroit this year for himt to take a job? Honestly, I think that was just a way for him to not say that he didn't want to go to the teams that had openings and/or that they weren't offering enough money.

That was true of this organization before Sean Payton but that image in gone at this point. Mrs. Benson provides all the money any GM or coach could want and the freedom to do their job without interference. What coach wouldn't want that?

And Loomis gives his HC free reging to hire his coaches and more or less control of who they sing and draft. While manipulating the books to give them any player they want. i.e. DA wanted Carr. What coach wouldn't want that?

The rest is just stuff you are making up with no evidence to support it.
