I know many of you will disagree with me. But you can't be southern and not love skyward. Free bird. T is for Texas. Sweet home Alabama. Most of you don't know rock and roll. You think what you listen to today is rock but its not. Rock is an attitude not a sound. I could tell you about bands like the eagles . Styx. Reo. And so many others. You wouldn't agree. I grew up in a time that rock and roll was it. The 70s was a great time to grow up in. Now we have no real music. I hate this time. There is no music to listen to. In the 70s we had great musicians. Now what do we have. Skynryd. Styx. Reo. Eagles. And so many other great bands. What do we have today. Bad company. Nazareth. Bon jovi. Def leopard. How can you compare today's music to the old days.

I was a kid in the 70s and i think there was some good stuff but compared to other decades I feel like it’s kind of a wasteland. Led Zeppelin was in the 70s though and I would give them strong consideration in such a subjective topic.

Styx, REO, Nazareth, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard are not the best of anything (no offense), except radio pop rock, not necessarily a bad thing, just not a great thing....

There is no correct answer but my feeling is the Allman Bros were probably the most dynamic band out there, making more complex, diverse, interesting music than all the others.....had Duane Allman survived they would have been much, much bigger and better...

You just called everyone here an idiot over all time great rock bands and in that post you included REO Speedwagon and Bon Jovi.

Anyone who answers anything but “The Beatles” is jsut trying to be contrarian.

For your proof, just watch any number of interviews on youtube with rock legends, or even minor rock stars , anyone you can think of, and almost to a man, or woman, they all say the same EXACT thing- ‘Well, i was ___ years old when i saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, and it changed my life.. set the direction for my career from that night on’... then all those guys who got influenced by The Beatles, then influenced the NEXT generation.. so it all really starts with The Beatles.. BUT not only did they start everything, they also PERFECTED it as they went along.. that’s a tough combo to beat.

Did I miss when he put “wrong answers only”?

I have never understood why it seems the Eagles are so polarizing but they consistently are. My dad listened all the time and I like a lot of it.

Fun fact: when Best Buy was first coming to the area they gave away the Hell Freezes Over Concert DVD to everyone entering the Saints game that week. Mid 90s. I still have that DVD and the acoustics on it are fantastic.
