Why are y’all so negative? (1 Viewer)

This team is 4-2. Am I missing something???

We’re really complaining about how much and how we win now?

Let’s get some positivity going on here. We have an above average qb, top oline, and top defense. We’re battle tested and 4-2 with a lot of backups playing key minutes. Monday night is an example of games we would lose in the past and we came out with a W. Stop b••••ing and enjoy the ride.

We take back the division lead Sunday!
That's impossible.

I dont think its so much negativity, there has been a bunch of praise heaped on the Saints players.

But one group in particular that is drawing the ire of the fans, the WR group. And its not personal against the players themselves but rather management of the Saints. Many people have come to realization that you cant have a consistent offense with UDFAS at WR. If it wasn't for the play of Kamara, Harris and Winston on offense this team would be toast
I like how you say we can't have a consistent offense with UDFA's at WR and then you list an UDFA at WR.

Only thing I’m worried about is our bad WR catching up to us when we have to put up points to win….We have MT13, Calloway and Harris….that’s it. No consistency at TE or WR….I’m very happy at our record but come on….our receivers are really, really, really bad right now. TQS better get it together also.

Calloway is a #2 or #3 playing #1, then nobody….We need MT13 and Harris right now badly ! Someone needs to light a fire 🔥 under the TE group and WR group. It’s gonna catch up to us. Our defense better play lights freaking out against Tampa Sunday. They have a good defense also.

Why are we so negative....I'll take a stab at it. Because a lot of posters here didn't agree with the obvious, and correct (clarification just in case), outcome of the offseason QB comp.

And some of us (me included) think a sprained ankle shouldn't keep you out of football for a season and a half. MT should've gotten the damn surgery in Feb/March.
The first part of this is very true imo.

Check out any other NFL team forum - win lose or draw - and you will find the same negativity.

Being realistic about your deficiencies as a team is the only way to grow. No way anyone can look at this team right now and objectively say it’s a true SB contender with what we trot out there on offense, just MT coming back isn’t changing that.

Are we proud of what the Saints have done so far? Heck yes! Do we settle or are the Saints settling? Heck no.

Even after all the success we've had during the SP and Brees era, there is a hard nugget of negativity that's at the heart of every Saints fans soul, you can't go through what we did for almost 40 years without it scarring you in a fundamental way.

With that said, I try to always look at the bright side, sometimes successfully....

The Saints can’t take back the division lead on Sunday, even if they win.

The Saints can’t “take back the division lead” on Sunday, even if they win. The Bucs are 6-1. They would be 6-2. The Saints would be 5-2. Bucs would still have 1/2 game lead. SMH
Having same # of losses and the head to head edge is essentially having the lead

I am very positive about this defense. They're fun to watch and very effective (go DeMario!). I felt the same way in the Dome Patrol days. And this offense is bringing back memories of the Dome Patrol days as well, in large part due to injuries. I had no confidence in our offense back then either. Note this is not a personnel comparison, it's an emotional one.

We'll see what happens this weekend, I hope the version of offense we saw Monday night was an anomaly, that the WRs simply can't catch the ball in the rain - because if that version of our offense shows up against TB, well... AK41 can only carry this team so far.

Oh, and I used to love seeing the our QB throw to the TE - now I cringe when it happens. So there's that.

I think the “negativity” is mistaken for a lot of the factual things we are seeing. Yes, being 4-2 is great but at the same time we are seeing lots of areas of improvement needed. Watching Winston grow into the offense, lack of receivers who get separation and make the tough catches, TE that’s really nonexistent, offensive line that is dealing with injuries and sometimes flat out turnstiles, issues at place kicker, only one RB who can perform and really is carrying the load. I’m happy to be 4-2 and feel if we can grow and if we can correct these issues, we can compete for a playoff spot.
