Why C.J. Stroud is a better pick than Bryce Young. (1 Viewer)

Wasn't durable early? Can you provide some examples? Because, the only thing I can think of was the shoulder injury at SD, which only led to one missed start. He didn't have one at NO until 2014, so......where is this "wasn't durable early" thing coming from?

As for the mixed results, he was running a Shottenheimer offense in SanDiego, which wasn't a great fit for DB.

When he met with physical therapist Kevin Wilk, Brees asked how long it would take to rehabilitate his shoulder. Wilk told him eight months to start throwing, two full years to feel normal again.Oct 7, 2018

Look at Tua.
While we are looking at Tua, should we perhaps peek at S Mills, M Jones-drew, S Tasker, S Smith, W Dunn, E Smith, or B Sanders. All considered too small. All standout players in positions which take much more physical contact during an era of increased physicality by rule.

Why is Tua the only comparison you use?

Just in general I'd take Alabama QB over Ohio State. I can't think of an OSU QB who really translated well into the NFL. Regardless, a player evidently needs to transfer out of either school to be Super Bowl eligible.

You and I have a very different idea of what "not durable" means.... How many games did he miss because of that shoulder? Not durable....man, gtfoh

What I was trying say was Drew was a smaller QB and really beefed up after his shoulder injury. It takes a player a yr or two to get that mature muscle, and durability. I was making the comparison w/ Bryce Young, who is 5'11" and barley 200lbs, going to a bad Panthers team.

When these players get picked so high they should send gifts to all of the media pundits who are beating the drums for them and are the main reason they will get drafted so high. A lot of the teams actually buy into what the Mel Kiper’s of the world have to say and not trust their own scouts. Personally I am not sold on any of the QB prospects this draft.
There are exactly 0 teams in the NFL that trust what Mel Kiper says about the draft let alone trust him over their own scouts. This is beyond a ridiculous point bordering on crazy.

IMHO Bryce young was listed at 6ft, but was really 5'10". He played at a weight of max 195lb at Alabama w/ one of the very best O lines in college football. He then went on to weigh in at 205lb at the combine, but would not weigh in at his pro day. Leading teams to suspect he couldn't keep his weight up at 205lb for his pro day. Young isn't built like Kyler Murry, he doesn't have his weight centered in his butt and legs, which allows QBs to be durable in the NFL.

I see way too much risk to reward in this pick, so high in the draft. C.J. Stroud is 6'3" 214lb w/ similar talent as Young, but has the size to start early and go through the growing pains of starting on a bad team. I don't think we can say that about Young.

IMHO neither are worth a top 5 pick, but teams will over draft them anyway. In fact this class isn't much better than last years crop. The QB postion didn't get any better this yr, but the teams got a whole lot dumber.

Bryce Young QB

Alabama • Jr • 5'10" / 204 lbs

C.J. Stroud QB

Ohio State • Jr • 6'3" / 214 lbs

Young is a full field reader. The size when your that snall limits what you can do with hin. No 3 step drops..everything is gonna be 6 or 7 step drops or from the Gun. Your quick game is just gonna be quick boundary throws. Ohio state QBs are just hard evaluations. Yeah u like his size and has enough arm and anticipation as a passer. But Haskins had like 50 tds in that scheme that paired with the talent at skill positions and oline. Creates easy reads and a lot of separation.
