Why do we keep facing 8 man fronts ? (1 Viewer)

fear of Reggie and Deuce.... opens up the passing game.... its a beautiful thing as long as dont have turn overs

To be honest I haven't seen many 8 man fronts the last 4 weeks.

Clemms, Atlanta had 5 guys on their D-Line most of the second half last week with numerous blitzes called to slow us down. I'm pretty sure Tampa and Pitt had a 4-4 type defense with their SS cheating up as the extra linebacker also most of those games. Don't recall Cincy's D as I wasn't watching it most of the game, Family Day.

I've already kinda speculated about this

Nobody wants to be that team that gets the Fresno State Treatment from Bush... and it's no secret what Deuce can do. Teams are more willing to get beaten by the pass than by the run. Successful running means time eaten off the clock, whereas passing GENERALLY means quicker scoring.

Our running game hasn't been successful because we have been facing the 7-8 man fronts. When you throw the ball, only three things can happen and two of them are bad. (Bum Phillips ;))
