Why no Labor Day W.E. Games (1 Viewer)

With the new 3 PS. 17 RS. Schedule I just realized that there’s a 2 week gap from our last PS to our first game. I remember when we played over Labor Day weekend and it was great. Not having to go into work the day after was awesome
Anyway I just thought when they went to the new schedule they would be playing Labor Day weekend. Essentially the 2nd bye week becomes that weekend for everyone

i dont rem the last time the nfl season started before labor day. as long as i can rem its always the thursday after.

edit. after googling. looks to be 2001 they stopped that. makes sense since i started watching nfl around 2000. and i was 12. wouldnt have remembered that.

Well being an old timer I remember those being wild environments. Those that are not alcoholics like me lol May temper drinking when they have to work on Monday but when it’s a holiday. Well I remember the Dome being extra wild

2000 was the last time the NFL started on Labor Day weekend, i have hated the move every since. The NFL thinks they get a higher audience when they are not competing with BBQ’s, that way they can change more for tv rights and stations can charge more for advertising.
