Will Drew Brees make the Pro Bowl? (1 Viewer)

Forget the fact that we know he's not playing in the Pro Bowl, because he will have to play the next week in Dallas. The question is does he make it this year when the initial team is announced.

I think the team is announced in about a week and I have to believe that Aaron Rodgers and Mike Vick will be a lock to be on the initial Pro Bowl roster and that would leave one more QB from the NFC.

I think that final spot will be out of Drew and Matt Ryan. With Eli and Josh Freeman falling next.

All Saints homerism aside either Brees or Ryan not making the initial team is going to be considered a major snub. I do believe that Brees will get the spot and it might just give the media and the Falcons that chip on their shoulder buzz that will drive most Saints fans nuts.

Anyway just something to watch for in the next couple of weeks.

Not cause I think they are better, but because of the media hype for the others (some of it deserved). Speaking from an outsiders POV, Drew's high INT count doesn't help his cause either.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has been named to the NFC Pro Bowl roster for the game this sunday. Ryan will replace New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees who is unable to play due to the Saints playing in the Super Bowl the following week.

So it's gonna be tough
But Drew is Drew and will be named to Pro Bowl as long as his broken leg holds up

Don't get me wrong. I fully believe that he should make it and deservedly so, but I am thinking that the media will skew people's opinion on who should make it. I surely don't doubt people will still vote for Romo.

Those votes are only the fans votes and once the rest are added up Vick will not be in it. Lets be real, what has Vick done to earn a pro bowl birty? yest he plahs great but he has not played the whole season and may not play in all the games the rest of the season (more injuries). I think he needs to carry the team for a whole season like Drew and even Matt before he can be considered. JMHO

I think those numbers would only take into account fan votes. That's only 1/3 of the vote. Still got players and coaches vote.

I think Matt Ryan will make a big jump with the players and coaches.
