Will Smith goes on stage at the Oscars and hits Chris Rock then verbally threatens him from his seat (1 Viewer)

The Guardian has a story as well with the joke Chris Rock made. You could clearly see Jada did not take the joke lightly. Considering Jada's condition (alopecia), it was a terrible move by Rock.

Same language warning as Dan.

Was this for real? I mean, I don't watch the Oscars, but was this staged for views or something? It seems almost too outlandish to be real.

He did a good job of tying it into his acceptance speech, but I dunno man.... Something seems to be going on with him.

Over the last few months he's been soooo emotional at every turn. If I had to guess, I'd say writing his book stirred up memories he wasn't ready to face again.

I've followed him pretty much his entire career and the last few months is a side he's never shown/I've never seen.

Chris took it all in stride. He's as seasoned as they come, but he had to be stunned at that one.

Open marriage aside, I don't think things have been the same since the whole "entanglement" situation on Red Table Talk.

There's a time and a place for everything---I get it, he made a joke about a condition his wife can't help...but find him after the show. If he's willing to jump up and pop a guy knowing millions of people are watching, it raises questions about what he might do when no one is watching

A shame because this was his big night, and he's always been a charmer

It was a moment of rage. This wasn’t a rational decision.

I thought she may have been recovering from cancer treatments. Thanks for the info that it is alopecia.

If baldness was a reason to punch someone, millions of middle-age men would be knocking people out. There was no excuse to physically assault someone over a joke (not that you were implying there was).

Chris Rock is not a good enough actor to pull that off. In the uncensored version you can tell he was rattled. That was real.
