With the 10th Pick in the 2025 draft, the Saints select? (6 Viewers)

It came down to either Bowers or Fuaga last year. I, too, wanted Bowers super-badly, but we needed o-line then and now. Fuaga has made his rookie errors here and there, but it was a solid pick. And he's moveable back to the right side if we can somehow land an experienced left tackle in free agency. Meanwhile, Bowers is stuck playing for the Raiders until at least his rookie contract is up.
I agree. Fuaga was a great pick. Glad we have him.

It is sad. Perfect description. This has to be the most Saints thing of all time. To have a season like this where nothing goes right, coach is fired, injuries all over the place, and we're looking at the 10th overall pick. Good grief.

The worst part is that we could've been awful the easy way or the hard way. The easy way being you clean up the cap, get rid of some pricey vets, accumulate picks, and roll with young guys with an eye toward the future. The Saints chose the hard way by sacrificing the future to be mediocre/awful today. They stayed all in after Drew retired. They stayed all in when SP quit. They went even more all in with Jameis Winston after missing out on Deshaun Watson. They were convinced that all Winston needed was a raw LT and an elite #2 WR so they moved heaven and earth to get him just that.

This has been a catastrophic failure by the front office. Now we're looking at a situation where we might be the least desirable destination in the NFL. Who is going to want to come here if they have options? Not just coaches but players. No young franchise QB. Very little young talent to build around. A salary cap that looks like it has been run by a 14 year old kid playing Madden franchise mode.

Anyway, rant over. With the 10th pick the Saints select some rando that isn't a SSF favorite. At first we'll be like "wait, what" but then someone will post some highlights from Youtube and we'll all pretend like it was a great pick. "To get this guy at 10 is a steal! My mock draft 14.2 had him going in the top 5".
Been saying the same thing. If only we could have known what a waste this season would be, we could have taken the necessary cap hits to clear the roster of inflation. The Bucs timed their cap rebuild perfectly with the state of the NFC South. When we finally pull the trigger, we will be in the midst of the upswing of the rest of the South. Sigh

Only way I think teams would want to trade up to 10 is if a QB falls that far. I just don't think that happens. Maybe a guy like Jeanty, but if a talent like that is available I'd rather we take him. He's a guy that can transform your offense.

If Jeanty is there, take him. He's a player you can build an offense around and good thing b/c we already have a few pieces in place to build around a player like Jeanty.

I want to trade down over and over and stock pile picks
That's fine, but you have to find a team willing to trade up. Most teams stand pat and let the draft come to them.
The Saints under Loomis have been an anomaly.

The 2 QBs…. a couple of OTs…. The DT from Mich…. A couple of edge rushers…. And at least one DB will all go before we pick. So I’m thinking either TMac or Jeanty could fall to us. If either does we should take which ever one falls to us. If not, we should look to trade down no more than 4 spots and take Warren there. Which would be ideal if it works out that way.

Ashton Jeanty or Mason Graham. T-Mac is also on my list, but I think he’s most certainly gone before we pick.

I'm cool with Jeanty or trading down a few spots and taking Tyler Warren.

Were a long ways from competing. We might as well make the offense somewhat exciting while we rebuild.

It’s interesting to go back and see how many times the #10 pick has been traded over the last ten drafts…nearly every draft in that span.

Btw…I believe that we are guaranteed to pick no lower than the #10 pick if the whiners win tonight against the Lions on MNF.
