Yes, we should take a tradeback! No one is the correct answer. Trade down in Rounds 1-3, then start trading for next year’s picks in 4-7.

That's about as ridiculous an analogy to football as I've ever seen. Insanity is repeating the EXACT same thing expecting a different result. Every player is different. You still need a good OL not hitting on a player at that position does not mean you don't still need one. It's like QB, you don't stop drafting QBs because you didn't find the right one. SMH
I don't want anybody on this board to ever mention this guy coming here. Played every game 15 tackles, (4 vs Texas) (1 vs UMASS) 5 sacks last year. About 2 or 3 of his sacks were open runs. Previous years 4.5 last year and 4.5 2023. I'll pass. I just watched his tape and its not good. He killed grass for majority of the year.

Just a thought, but how would people feel if we traded back a long ways accumulating a 1st round pick for 2026 draft and end up with either a very late first round pick or early 2nd instead?
I'm on the fence, but that would put us prime position to get a top QB in the 2026 draft.
Exactly. Imagine passing on Tomlinson for Gerard Warren just because you wanted to draft a defensive linemen because it was better positional value or "build the lines." Maybe it looks ok for a year or two but eventually you're the team that passed on a generational talent for meh.If your scouts come back from their evaluations, including your head of scouting, and they say “Ashton Jeanty is LaDanian Tomlinson all over again, highest graded RB we have seen in 20 years,” do you pass on him because you want to build your lines first?
In my opinion it is just a list.I don't put too much stock into them. They're often very far off. Jake Majors in the 5th? Mykel Williams was flat butt cheeks but he's worth a first?. Deone Walker single handedly made Kentucky's defense dominate and took over offensive lines but he's a 3rd round pick? They have Mason Taylor in the 2nd round but Luke Lachey in like the 6th when Lachey is a far better TE talent.
Comparing them to last year's draft reveals quite a bit of how far off they are. They had Bo Nix and Penix as a 2nd round talents yet they went top 10.
How much Deone Walker have you watched? He's nowhere near as good as you're making him out to be.. Deone Walker single handedly made Kentucky's defense dominate and took over offensive lines but he's a 3rd round pick?
There is also a intellectual difference. I'll never forget the quote by Steve Maiucchi. Some positions you need thinkers.Yup, agreed.....especially those big DT's.....a lot of them struggle to stay healthy and keep the weight down to avoid foot/ankle, etc injuries....
it's a weak draft at the top. This is one of those years it would be wise to trade down if you found someone willing to trade up.Wasn't one of the complaints about always picking in the bottom half of the draft is that all the top guys were gone when the Saints picked, and now that the Saints are picking in the top 10, we want to trade back down to where we were complaining that all the top guys are gone?
or RAS scores. I don't care to ever see another RAS score its trash, i been saying it for the past 2 years.Blows my mind that many claim he's a first round pick and some as a top 10. He was a massive reason Georgia's defense struggled. This is one of those examples where people in the NFL draft become over-enamored with physical measurables and give a pass to their average, or below average play. In this case, its inferior play.
