With the current Injuries, we should temper our Superbowl expectations and just enjoy the rest of the season. (2 Viewers)

What's hardest for me is my nephew, a die-hard Saints fan who wept inconsolably after the last 2 playoff defeats, was only 2.5 years old when we won it all. I really, really want him to experience the joy of winning a Super Bowl. He has still has that youthful enthusiasm of believing his team will win no matter what. For me, whatever, I'd love to see it again, but I'm a 41-year-old man and I've seen the Saints win a Super Bowl, which is more than my grandparents ever got to see (they were season ticket holders for many seasons, including the infamous 1-15 1980 campaign). I really want it for him.

I agree. The way our defense became, dare I say, dominant during the TB run, made me feel like this was going to be one of the greatest Saints seasons ever.

Laying that egg coming out of the bye, the inconsistencies on defense since the bye, Kamara's change in play and now these injuries have really forced me to reassess my expectations.

It's hard because I want Drew to get another Super Bowl so terribly -- but I realize that it's so hard to win a Super Bowl and so many insane things have to work out just to get there.

Still, I'll hold out hope that something special comes of all of this.

Great OP.

The challenge for me is that the refs are making it hard to do that and, again personally, I just can't bear a third heartbreaking end to the season in a row.

I'd almost prefer a 10 point loss to end the season -- just not to the Niners, Rams, Seahawks, Vikings, Aaron Rodgers or the Cowboys. I guess that leaves the Eagles, which would be depressing for losing to such a bad team.

So I guess we will just have to win it all.

I'm not mailing it in, but honestly I'm beginning to feel like no matter how hard they play something won't go right. I guess the past two endings has taken a toll on me. We seem to get hosed weekly by the refs and it's starting to feel like it doesn't matter what they do. Key injuries are concerning and there have been some decisions by the higher ups that are showing now like not drafting or signing a WR opposite Thomas.

As someone stated, we are blessed to be at 10-3 with Drew missing almost 6 games. What keeps me optimistic is that I don't think they have peaked so if the best is coming in the playoffs we are still a dangerous team. It's just hard being a fan and feeling like we will be up in the playoffs and something out of the ordinary will happen or a bad call/non-call will be made.

Why? Who's so great that we have to bow down to them? There's nobody out there that we should be afraid of.

I have to admit that over the last month I was pretty discouraged and with the latest bad news I pretty much wrote us off. But it's BS. Pretty much the consensus best team in the NFC is S F. and if we played them again tomorrow I'd say it was a toss up.

Perfectly stated. Vegas still sees us as a MAJOR contender for the SB. I’ll take it

We are 10-3. Been a fantastic rollercoaster season. Just like the last two seasons prior, we are being hit with season ending injuries at tail end of our season.

No matter what happens, be grateful and proud of our young men. Only one team can win it all.

The days of us being a 3,4, 5 win team maybe be long behind us, but we should never act like a spoiled fanbase. This year should never be called a waste if we can't win it all. Drew Brees gets to end the year a record holding GOAT. It's been a blast and the team is so young that we got a lot of great years ahead of us.

Let's finish the year off strong and so if we can get the lucky bounce in the playoffs that we've haven't seen since 2009.
I told myself this exact same thing today. Davenport injury is so huge...

No way. The other teams in the playoffs are dealing with just as many injuries. The 49ers are a walking injury report. And the thing that makes us dangerous is our depth. We rotate a lot of players on the DLine. We lost Drew for 5 games and didn’t throw in the towel and we not about to now. Next man up!

After the davenport injury (and rankins maybe) plus the defensive performance against the niners, I have tempered my expectations.

Davenport is the only significant injury we are dealing with long term. It’s a big one, but definitely not something we can’t overcome. The question is can Dennis Allen game plan for once

Shhh... Just Let me work my positive reverse jinx magic.

Once playoffs start we just need to get hot for 2-3 games to make it to Miami. Anything can happen, but yea I'm enjoying it one round at a time.

We thought the same thing when Brees went down. I'm not giving up yet. There's still talent on this team but the loss of Davenport hurts.
