Honestly no QB is worth that kind of money... would have to win every playoff game in there career and never miss starting a game..... have no clue how this Market suggesting these outrageous salaries all started.... it's ruining the league if you ask me.... look at Chase getting 40 mil per year.... so silly paying someone that kind of money and he needs a QB to throw it to him... what's next 20 mil per year kickers and punters....

No no no, Brock had elite weapons that made him look better. Derek Carr is a better pure QB than Brock. Don’t care if anyone agrees. Give Carr McCaffrey Deebo aiyuk and kittle and Trent Williams lol

…not to mention Shanahan.

Pretty certain Carr would have more than one playoff appearance under his belt if he spent a large portion of his career in that sort of environment as opposed to the ones he’s played in.

Wrong Carr is not better than Purdy....keep believing though....

And yet, even without Carr having all those superior weapons and coaching that Purdy has had at his disposal…

Just to throw it into the ether. Carr was better than Purdy in almost every category last year. Comp%, TD%, Int%, QB Rating, Sk%.

Except Purdy had a higher QBR, yall literally making stuff up to make yourself feel better about Derek Carr. Sad!

::: posts factual statement regarding objective mathematical statistics, gets accused of “lITERALLY” making stuff up:::

SMH 🤦🏾‍♂️

There’s not a lot separating them and there isn’t nearly as big a difference as you imply.

Hence why I’d never pay Purdy elite money because he isn’t near being elite.
Purdy getting MVP runner up votes when he was 24 in his second year starting kind of disproves this

Carr finished third in MVP in his age 25 season, FWIW.

Regardless, it’s not a fair comparison because you know full well that Brock Purdy has had miles better personnel around him than Carr has had at any point in his career.

Purdy literally had a Super Bowl ready roster and a multi-Super Bowl participant head coach.

It’s not a fair comparison, and you know it.

Heh, I just realized something. It gets repeated here so often about how Derek Carr only has one playoff appearance. He catches a lot of heat for it and we all just kind of take it on the surface as a black and white fact.

Sure, that’s accurate, he actually played in the 2021 Raiders playoff game after leading them to a 10-7 record, his only “playoff appearance.”

However, it should be noted that in 2016, he led the Raiders to a 12-3 record, finished third in MVP voting, but got injured at the end of the year and missed the team’s playoff game that year.

Sure, it’s still only one playoff appearance and only two, we’ll call it “playoff-level seasons,” but still a noteworthy footnote IMO.

Brock Purdy is the type of 'CEO' QB that needs everything around him to be elite in order for him to be successful.

He doesn't have a lot of elite traits on his own that can elevate those around him.
