Nnamdi Asomugha 'hit it off' during weekend visit, GM Mickey Loomis said Monday morning (1 Viewer)

loomis is pretty smart.

step 1: plant the seed. thats what he/they did. aka 'hit it off'.
but! don't rush to offer a contract. let nnamdi test the market.
let his see what, if any make a serious push for him.

it was a while back, but wasnt this the same strategy loomis used on sharper?
i seem to remember a lull in the proceedings, or maybe the lull came before they met?

This both sums up everything thats wrong with the way fans approach free agency.

why? or shall I say....how?

ed reed immediately improves our secondary.... Nnamdi immediately gives us a SOLID improvement.

is that not the goal of free agency or am I missing something..... please explain.

and on top of it Reed is from Destrehan and Nnamdi was born in Lafayette.... both Local guys. again, what is wrong with my thinking?

Good to hear that Payton and Loomis met with the player before leaving town.

In my opinion, the player would not be in town if he and the Saints were not in the same financial ballpark on a contract.

I wonder if they will switch him over to safety to finish out his career? We all know that aging CBs sometimes make this switch, but it may be to early for N.A. to make this switch.

At worst, this meeting may be driving up the price that San Fran has to pay the player, which is a good thing.

You don't even know what position he plays. You want to cast out players, yet you aren't sure if the replacement you're eyeing would even be a replacement.

Ed reed and Harper play the same position? or is Reed a FS?

either way, they are both upgrades....

Not to be disrespectful, and in no way am I saying your input is not appreciated, but I think you would have to admit that it is hard for us to respect your opinion when you make a suggestion that centers around players whose positions you don't even know.

On top of that, the player in question happens to be Ed Reed: a perennial pro bowler, future hall of famer, and arguably one of the best to play his position. Ever.

Couple these together and it lends to some serious credibility concerns.

I do know what positions they play.... my argument is we need to get the best 11 players on the field on defense and ed reed and nnamdi would be in that number. if we need to make cuts to insure their availability.... then greer and harper are the likeliest candidates for release. address the all powerful SS dilemma in the draft or promote from in house.

jesus I am a fan trying to discuss my team of which I have season tickets to see. I am so sorry my opinion offends you.

maybe I need to stop posting on this site as the discourse has hit an all time low.

Hit it off: (Verb) to have a great relationship with someone instantly

Example Sentences:

A: Did you make any friends when you moved to Vancouver to study English? B: Yes I did! On the first day, I hit it off with a girl named Sarah. Now we are best friends.

When James started to talk to Sarah in the bar, they hit it off, and had a great time together.

Didn't know Loomis & Payton had visited with Nnamdi before they went to Ari. Hope he decides to sign with us, he would be an upgrade to our back end. I know he didn't play good the past 2 seasons, but thats what happens when you play in the wrong scheme just like our defense did last season. H'es played in RR system so he alraedy knows it, and he was a shutdown corner in that system.

Then you would be giving into the SR Nazi's

Just blow them off and continue to visit SR like I do. There are plenty of great members and post to enjoy. Another useful feature of SR is the ignore button. Found it a week or so ago and it makes the forum much more enjoyable.:9:

well, a salary swap. Ed reed and Harper play the same position? or is Reed a FS?

either way, they are both upgrades....

I understand the salary swap idea. I just like the depth and unless you are ready to roll with Bush as our starter, we shouldn't cut Harper. But I agree they are upgrades I like both of these guys we are potentially trying to bring in.

I mean Loomis gets the credit, but this would almost be a Rob Ryan signing.
