How did I never watch Kamara in college? (3 Viewers)

and I had never heard of him before he was drafted.

Same.

I remember that TN team initially being hyped as potentially being something special.........but it was usually Josh Dobbs and Jalen Hurd getting mentioned.

It took Coach Payton to fully unlock his potential, none of his college teams really knew what they had or how to use him
Well he was definitely used as he should have been in those highlights. I'm amazed no one else saw the potential. All I heard is that SP couldn't believe he was still there when he was in the draft. Thankfully we traded up for him.

If we're being fair though......Saban apparently didn't really know what he had in Kamara, either.

RB depth-wise, Saban probably had better reasons for that than Butch Jones, but still.
This is true. Think of the RB stable Saban had.

I remember watching that A&M gaming and thinking that he was insane. He was running all over the field on them. He just kept bouncing off people and breaking tackles like a pinball. I don't watch nearly as much college football as I do pro. My dad watches a ton of college football and doesn't really keep up with the NFL or the draft. I remember when he was drafted, my dad was shocked that he fell that far. His words were something like "How the hell did they get him there?"

Because for some reason Butch Jones made him the backup behind Jalen Hurd.

In fairness, Hurd was a good back, too. But Kamara was special.
Jalen Hurd's mother had this to say about Alvin Kamara during the NFL combine:

I think she used to be apart of our old scouting department.
